Coronation Street spoilers and updates tease that Kelly Neelan will have a conflict with her dying mom after discovering she isn’t serious with her medications.
Coronation Street Spoilers – Laura’s Illness
The wayward mom Laura (Kel Allen) recently came back into Kelly’s (Millie Gibson) life, revealing that she’s terminally ill and is expected to die soon.
Kelly understandably doubted her mother but was soon empathetic so she secretly tend to her needs while juggling responsibilities as a student and as a worker at the Barbers.
However, in upcoming scenes, Kelly will be devastated to know that her mother doesn’t see her efforts because Laura is mixing alcohol with her medications.
A sick Laura hits the bottle at the Rovers and takes morphine tablets, feeling blue for letting her daughter down. Gary Windass (Mikey North) spots her out of the pub but hides it from Kelly who’s been struggling with her many responsibilities. But Kelly gets word of this later in the week when nurse Aggie Bailey (Lorna Laidlaw) informs her.
A furious Kelly confronts her hopeless mother, calling her selfish. A concerned Gary tries to mediate between the two but Kelly in her disappointments wants her mother to leave Gary’s flat. Will she later regret her choice?
Coronation Street Updates – Laura’s Request
After Laura’s fight with Kelly, she asks Gary to become Kelly’s legal guardian, appreciating his help as a father to her.
Corrie viewers know that Gary stepped into Kelly’s life to atone for his sins of killing her father Rick (Greg Wood). It seems like he’ll go as far as consoling Kelly over her father’s death as new snaps obtained by the media revealed that the Corrie actors were spotted filming at a church in Manchester.
Kelly and Laura thought Rick is somewhere out there escaping from his crimes on the cobbles but they are headed to know the devastating news. Actress Millie Gibson who plays Kelly is seen crying at what seems to be Rick’s funeral while Mikey North who portrays Gary stands by her side, comforting her. Did Gary grant Laura’s wish?
However, things will get intense for him in upcoming scenes as Laura hires a personal investigator to track down her missing husband with Gary as the only remaining contact. After quizzing Gary about Rick’s whereabouts, the PI suspects Rick is already dead. He informs Laura that the evidence he gathered points to Gary as the main suspect for murder. Will he be proven guilty? Or will he continue to play as Kelly’s father figure?
