Nicole Kidman: “Having My Baby Has Been a Healing Experience”

Nicole Kidman Covers Dujour Winter Magazine

Nicole Kidman covers the winter issue of DuJour magazine while giving a candid interview about her past life with Tom Cruise, finding love with Keith Urban and how becoming mother healed her.

The Academy Award winning actress admits she lived in a bubble and became very dependent during her nine year marriage to ex-husband Tom Cruise.

“I was totally smitten—I fell madly, passionately in love. I was reeling with Tom. I would have gone to the ends of the earth for him. I was so impulsive and naïve… We were in a bubble, just the two of us. We became very dependent on one another,” she told.

In 2006, Kidman married husband Keith Urban whom she credits to changing her life.

“My life changed. He is a wonderful, caring man and he makes me feel secure. We don’t ever like to be separated.”

Having her children Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret completed her healing process and she insists she is happier than ever.

“Having my baby has been a healing experience. It took me so long to have a child. I feel enormous gratitude. Sunday has healed an enormous amount in me. It’s a very private thing, but she just has.”

“I’m happier than I’ve ever been in my life. I’m living in a friend’s house in Nice. My two daughters are with me, Sunday Rose, who’s 4, and Faith Margaret, who’s 2. My mother is about to fly in from Australia to babysit. Then Keith will be arriving…My family is with me. My family.”

Isla Fisher: “I Never Had Any Body Issues During Pregnancy”

With her new movie Rise of the Guardians hitting theatres later this month, Isla Fisher has begun promoting the film by covering the December 2012 issue of Women’s Health magazine. The actress who stuns in a red mini dress on the cover opens up about her about losing the baby weight after having children, converting to Judaism to marry Sacha Baron Cohen and her career.

The mom of two admits she watches her weight, but losing weight after pregnancy wasn’t very hard because she breastfeed.

“I do watch my food. But I’ve been blessed in that I never had any body issues during pregnancy. I loved being able to eat whatever I wanted and the whole experience of giving life. And I never worried about losing the weight afterwards, because breastfeeding burns all the calories up so fast. Breastfeeding – that’s my big slimming secret! That and Spanx. Anytime anyone compliments me on my figure, I’m wearing my Spanx undies,” she tells.

The Australian born actress who is known for her beautiful looks insists she didn’t have a lot of confidence when she moved to Los Angeles to pursue her acting dreams.

“I never had the chutzpah to just come to LA and make it. I didn’t have that confidence. I’m always surprised when I get a job. I never saw this in my horizon.”

“After doing that [Wedding Crashers], I had 12 months where I was auditioning three times a day and I didn’t get a single job. That was a real low point. But with hindsight, those movies turned out to be awful, so I dodged a bullet. If I’d got any of them, I wouldn’t be where I am today.”

Moving to Los Angeles didn’t only propel her acting career, but also led her to finding her husband Sacha Baron Cohen. The couple married in 201o after Fisher converted to Judaism.

“It takes a couple of years of studying. I’ve always been really into family and food, so culturally it was the right fit for me.”

Although, the Wedding Crashers star has not forgotten her roots and keeps in touch with other Aussie natives.

”We can all do the accent really easily. And we all look great in a bikini. Including Russell Crowe – no one pulls off a bikini like Russell. I am sort of friends with them all. I just did a movie with Hugh Jackman [Rise Of The Guardians], and I catch up with Naomi [Watts] whenever I’m in New York.”

Selena Gomez Reflects On Fame, Speculates She’d Have Two Kids By Now If She’d Stayed In Texas

Selena Gomez Reflects On Fame, Speculates She’d Have Two Kids By Now If She’d Stayed In Texas

It’s hard to imagine Justin Beiber without his Disney star girlfriend by his side, but in a new interview Selena Gomez is doing just that. The 20-year-old actress and singer has made international celebrity status, starring on Disney Channel and releasing two albums. Her new movie shows her in a more mature role, as a troubled teen in Spring Breakers. In an interview with Glamour, Selena imagines what life would have been like if she and her mom hadn’t moved from Texas to L.A. to peruse acting.

I definitely didn’t appreciate it when I was little. I was frustrated that my parents weren’t together and never saw the light at the end of the tunnel where my mom was working hard to provide a better life for me. I’m terrified of what I would have become if I’d stayed there. I’m sure I’d have two children by now.”

Pretty harsh words for someone who claims to have a strong mom. Despite the region, you’d expect her mom’s values to have some impact on her. She backtracked, “I love the people, and I’m glad I grew up there. It’s because of my mom that I can do things on my own. I like being professional. I like showing up on time. I like being good to people, and I know that I’m reflecting her at the end of the day.”

Selena was just named Woman of the Year by Glamour, and is an ambassador for UNICEF. She started on Disney in her early teens, and remembers the stress of the network: “I grew up in one of the biggest high schools in the world, and that’s the Disney Channel. Everybody was falling in love with each other or not liking each other, and it was exhausting. I was the shy one in the corner.”

Selena is currently filming a spin-off movie for her hit Disney series Wizards of Waverly Place, which will air in January. What do you think of her remarks? I have to say, it isn’t very flattering to her home town to say she’d be unprofessional, late, and an unwed mother. Or am I reading too much into it?

Giuliana Rancic Talks How She Got Through Infertility, Miscarriage and Breast Cancer

Giuliana Rancic Talks How She Got Through Infertility, Miscarriage and Breast Cancer

E! news anchor and TV presenter Giuliana Rancic graces the November 2012 issue of Health magazine.  In the magazine Giuliana speaks about how she got through infertility, miscarriage and breast cancer.  Giuliana has been married to Celebrity Apprentice winner Bill Rancic for five-years.  The two have publicly discussed their fertility issues on television talk shows, having tried to conceive since approximately the beginning of 2009.

The couple began in vitro fertilization in March 2010,  and Giuliana got pregnant in the spring of 2010; however, she suffered a miscarriage at nine weeks.  Rancic had an IVF transfer for a second time in November 2010, however the procedure did not result in a pregnancy. When the couple decided to try for a third round of IVF, her doctor recommended a mammogram, which is how she found out she had breast cancer.

Giuliana’s wish to have a child had a happy ending, when she and husband Bill, 41, finally welcomed their son Edward Duke on August 30 via surrogate.  The couple have made it clear that they are not ready to stop and are already planning baby # 2.

Below are some highlights of her interview with Health Magazine November 2012 issue:

The road to baby was a tough one for you. You’ve said you were blindsided by how difficult it was.
It was a big shock! I always say how I chased my career instead of chasing guys. And everybody was patting me on the back. No one ever told me, “Oh, by the way, your eggs change when you reach a certain age.” I didn’t think 35 was old! So when the doctor said, “It’s not as easy as you thought it would be,” it was a real blow. Because I felt so young. I mean, this is a girl who was running six miles a day, and eating healthy, so how can you tell me that I’m not healthy in that department?

So would you have done anything differently?
I don’t think I would’ve frozen my eggs. A lot of people throw that out there, like, “Oh, just freeze your eggs.” That is major. It’s surgery! As a 25-year-old making not a lot of money, you’re not just going to go through all that and freeze your eggs.

After finding your cancer, did you know what your next steps would be?
No way, are you kidding? I was shell-shocked. I thought I was going to die. I didn’t know that if you find breast cancer early enough, you have a 98 percent survival rate. I went to work right after finding out and did E! News. I recently watched that episode and I don’t know how I pulled it off. Afterward, I ran into my dressing room and started hysterically crying. Bill was really the one who had to pick me up off the floor and say, “Hey, we’re making a plan here.” He took over.
