Coronation Street Spoilers: Newcomer Lydia Concerned About Daniel’s Past

Coronation Street spoilers and updates tease that a tough time for the newcomer Lydia Chambers as she gets to know more about her new fling Daniel Osbourne and she will not like his past.

Lydia (Rebecca Ryan) first stepped foot on the cobbles last December, causing a serious threat to Sarah (Tina O’Brien) and Adam Barlow’s (Sam Robertson) marriage after revealing she had a history with the latter during their university days.

However, Lydia’s storyline had a shocker twist as she and teacher Daniel (Rob Mallard) found love with each other after realizing they share many things in common. They sealed their new relationship with a kiss on Christmas Eve, despite Daniel’s recent break-up with show villain Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordans).

Their love story will continue on Monday’s (January 24) episode when Lydia praises Amy Barlow (Elle Mulvaney) for the positive results of her protest against upskirting issues at Weatherfield High School. But her cheerful mood will soon turn sour when Amy shares about how Daniel overturned his suspension from school recently, similar to what Amy has gone through.

Coronation Street Spoilers – Summer Creates A Gap Between Lydia and Daniel

Amy’s revelations keep running in Lydia’s head that she later interrogates Daniel about what had truly happened. It was revealed that schoolgirl Summer (Harriet Bibby) had an obsession with the teacher who offered him free tutorials to ensure she aces the university entrance exam. But he was wrongly accused of having inappropriate feelings toward his student that saw him publicly humiliated by Max (Paddy Bever).

These revelations get too heavy for Lydia to bear, and Summer causes a problem in their blossoming relationship, although indirectly.

Coronation Street Updates – Torn Between Two Lovers

Burdened by what she just knew, Lydia confides in Sarah at the Rovers where she confesses that she’s concerned about Daniel’s past. Meanwhile, Daniel’s former flame overhears them and immediately defends that Daniel is a lovely guy.

Sarah later shares what happened at the pub, pointing out how Daisy redeemed his tainted image, and Daniel is shocked by her kind gesture.

The story will take another turn on Wednesday’s (January 26) episode as Daniel meets Daisy to thank her for defending him, to which Daisy invites him they share a drink some other time. While the former couple gets immersed in their conversation, Lydia comes in and sees how their eyes are glued to each other. Will she cause a commotion? Or will Daisy make her feel jealous? Who will Daniel choose in the end?

Corrie boss Iain MacLeod recently revealed that Daniel’s story with Summer involving Max will continue to cause bigger problems, which will see him and David (Jack P. Shepherd) exchange fists.

“Having these two actors in really big angry and emotional scenes – both quite witty, it’s just dynamite… I don’t want to jinx it by saying it’s like Ken and Mike but it has the potential to go on a long time. I hope it works.’ Bring it on – fists out lads!” he told Metro.
