1. Enjoy A Sunset Celebration at Key West and Clearwater Beach
Plan on spending the day at one of these amazing beaches in Florida. Not only will you get to witness some incredible sunsets at Key West and Clearwater Beach, but also get to watch street performers and live music, as everyone celebrates even long after the sun has gone down.
2. National Naval Aviation Museum in Pensacola
Another free and neat place to experience with your children is the National Naval Aviation Museum in Pensacola. There are over 150 aircraft, 4,000 artifacts, along with fascinating information and history you’ll discover. If you plan your visit on Wednesdays, your kids can get autographs from real pilots. Make sure that you bring your ID.
3. Scalloping in Cedar Key
Scalloping is a popular activity to participate in during the summer at Cedar Key. How about catching your next meal with your kids by reaching for the bottom and grabbing these shells?
4. Visit Lake Eola Park
If you’re in the Orlando area, make sure you plan a walk around Lake Eola Park. It’s located right in the middle of the city. You can have a family picnic or simply watch the wildlife that hangs around the lake. There’s also a farmer’s market on Sundays here from 10-4.
5. Free Outdoor Movie Theatre at Fort Wilderness
Every night at Disney’s Fort Wilderness, near the Meadow Trading Post area, they play a free outdoor Disney movie. You might catch a Disney classic or one of their newer releases on a big screen. The event starts around 7 p.m with campfire singalongs with Chip and Dale.
6. Free Admission to Orlando Museums
On the first weekend of every month, there are several Orlando museums that will allow you to visit for free. The Orlando Science Center, Orlando Museum of Art, and the Mennello Museum are just to name a few that you won’t want to miss. There are also several other museums in the area that are always free.
7. LEGO Imagination Center
What kid doesn’t love playing with legos? Inside Disney Springs, the Lego Imagination Center allows children to be creative and build whatever their minds can come up with. There’s also hold special events for free several times throughout the year.

8. Spend the Day at Wekiva Island
At Wekiva Island, there are all kinds of fun recreational activities along with live music your family can enjoy. Admission is free during the week, and only a couple bucks on the weekends. Not only is there swimming but also volleyball, canoeing, sunbathing and don’t forget they serve beer and wine.
9. Lake Apopka Wildlife Drive
On Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, head out on this 11-mile drive to witness native wildlife and hundreds of species of birds at the Lake Apopka Wildlife Drive. Keep your eyes open for the alligators.
10. Plan a Day at the Wakodahatchee Wetlands
How about visiting a park that won’t cost you a dime to get in? The Wakodahatchee Wetlands at Delray Beach is a great place to see wildlife and walk out onto their boardwalk. Be aware that food and alcohol are not permitted in this park.
