Usher was honored with a star on the Walk Of Fame during a special ceremony by the Hollywood Walk of Fame in Hollywood, CA on Wednesday (Sept. 7).
The singer was dressed in a black button down shirt with detailing around the neck and matching jeans with sneakers. He posed proudly with his two children who looked like spitting images of him – eight-year-old Usher “Cinco” Raymond V and seven-year-old Naviyd Ely. Usher’s wife Grace and stepchildren were also present.
Celebrity friends, Stevie Wonder, Kelly Roland, Miguel, Will.i.am. and LA Reid were on hand to support the star recipient.
“This is the first time in history that I’ve ever come in 2,588th place — and it felt like No. 1,” he told at the event.
During his speech, Usher also paid homage to everyone who has supported him on his musical journey that began at 14 years old.
“I don’t just celebrate this moment by myself. I celebrate it with those people who invested in me, those people who loved me through my hard times,” Usher said before thanking his mother and first manager Jonetta Patton, “Mom, thank you for everything and all the people that you’ve actually helped to bring here. They wouldn’t be here if you didn’t recognize and make sure you selected the right people to be around and to help me be the man I am today and in this position.”
Usher is set to release his latest album Hard II Love next week.
