The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers document that Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) reacted unusually when responding to Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow). It was surprising when Victor told his son what happened to Ashland Locke’s (Robert Newman) body.
Nick believed that the timing was off from the jump. The Moustache happening to arrive just after Nick and Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) returned to her home was highly suspicious. As it turns out, Victor was there because his security team alerted him to a deadly situation that needed to be handled.
The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Ashland Locke’s Backstory Was Slowly Constructed
Ashland (Richard Burgi) was a problem for the Newman family before he came to resemble Robert Newman (Ashland). The wink at the recast underscores the importance of an initial side character.
As devoted fans recall, Ashland was written into the story through Tara Locke (Elizabeth Leiner). Harrison Locke’s (Kellen Enriquez) mother is the woman Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) met when he was off-screen and said to be in New York.
Kyle’s paternity revealed the deeper importance of Ashland within connected storylines. Victor eventually blocked Ashland’s request to say goodbye to Harrison when Newman’s character intended to leave Genoa City, Wisconsin, which sent the Lockeness Monster into a rage that led to his death.
The Young And The Restless Updates – Ravine Story Was A Clever Ruse
Victor’s security team did a lot of work moving Ashland’s body from the floor of Victoria’s living room, by the fireplace, to a car. Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) does not believe that Ashland was capable of walking from Victoria’s house to his car because of a likely concussed condition, the distance involved, and due to fierce winds, that were blowing on that soapy night.
Nick pressured Victor into making an unforced error. He did not have to tell Morrow’s character that Ashland’s body was moved to his vehicle, which was made to look like it crashed at the ravine.
Doing so implicated Nick, who told Victoria. She then told Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott). That means three Newmans were implicated as accessories after the fact.
Chance Chancellor Made A Good Offer
Chance strongly advised Nick and Victoria, that they could tell him what they knew and legally help themselves. They took the standard Newman route by talking around the truth.
Floyd’s character spoke directly with Victor. The character’s placement, by the chess board at the Ranch was purposeful, as both men were playing a high-stakes game.
Victor told Chance nothing, implying that the head of the Newman family will likely take a legal fall, possibly by autumn or sooner on Y&R.
