She’s probably been to several of these before in the past, but unfortunately, it doesn’t look like she will have one held in her honor. There’s a new report that suggests Meghan Markle won’t be having a baby shower even though she is expecting her first child with Prince Harry. Here’s why.
According to People Magazine, Meghan and her friends won’t be playing ‘Pint The Crown on the Baby Bump’ because it’s unlikely that the royal family will throw a baby shower for her. Even though Meghan is American, it’s not something that the monarchy does for their pregnant family members.
With that said, royal expert Victoria Aribiter told People that there might be a chance that Meghan will have a very low-key soiree but unfortunately, her royal fans won’t get to find out much about it. She told the publication,
“They have added pressure that they’re clearly very wealthy and a lavish baby shower would be seen as highly inappropriate. There’s nothing they can’t go out and buy themselves.”
In addition, the Royals have a very strict policy about receiving gifts in general. They usually have to respectfully return them unless it is given by someone who is personally known to the royal family.
So far Meghan herself has not made any comments about her pregnancy although she did tell well-wishers during a royal engagement that she is due during the last week of April. What’s more, both she and Prince Harry do not know the sex of their child. They want to keep it a surprise!
