The Young And The Restless (Y&R) Spoilers: Summer Loses Patience With Diane, Now Accuses Her Of Being In On Phyllis’ Murder?

The Young And The Restless: Summer Newman-Abbott (Allison Lanier)

The Young and The Restless (Y&R) spoilers and updates tease Summer Newman-Abbott (Allison Lanier) will lose patience with Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters). Having walked in on Diane strangling her mother, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) will she now accuse her of being in on her murder?

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Devastating Disaster

Summer and her brother Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei) are filled with rage and grief after Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) fills them in on the devastating disaster. Phyllis had shown up in the middle of the Bicentennial Gala after having lured Diane up to a room, claiming Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) was sick and needed his mother. Or, at least that was Diane’s version of what had happened-after Summer, Kyle and Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) found Diane strangling Phyllis in a room in Phyllis’ name.

Phyllis had gone ballistic at the announcement that Jack and Diane were engaged, making a total fool of herself, then she collapsed. An ambulance arrived but then later Chance brought the news of a devastating disaster; it had crashed and exploded with Phyllis and the driver still in it.

The Young And The Restless Updates – Did Diane Jenkins’ Strangling Contribute To Her Collapse?

While Daniel has to be held back from strangling Jeremy Stark, (James Hyde) and is accusing him of killing their mom, Summer has to wonder if Diane’s strangling attempt contributed. They don’t know how long Diane had Phyllis down, could she have cut off her air long enough to have contributed to Phyllis’ collapse? By the time Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) and Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) got to her, Elena couldn’t find a pulse, although Phyllis was fine before if a little psychotic. If Diane’s strangling attempt caused the collapse, even though it didn’t seem like Phyllis was anything but drunk, then ultimately, she’s responsible for her death.

Hurting And Looking For Someone To Blame

Summer is obviously hurting and looking for someone to blame, and when she sees Diane boo-hooing over Phyllis’ death it hits her wrong and she lashes out! The two have always hated each other and been rivals ever since Summer and Kyle were little kids-what’s with the crocodile tears? Now it’s Summer that has to be held back from attacking his mother when Summer accuses Diane of being part of the plan and in cahoots with Jeremy!

Phyllis shouldn’t have set Diane up for an altercation in her hotel room, but Diane shouldn’t have been strangling her either! Summer just can’t with Diane right now, and a shocked father and son take their women away from each other.

Phyllis is good at a lot of things but the criminal mastermind is not on that list. She could have easily explained to the cops that her violent ex-con husband threatened her life and that what transpired was in self-defense playing the victim card would get her a lot further than hiding his body. I am not sure if she realizes it or not but usually, things like bodies are really hard to hide and someone always happens to come upon them. This could be the thing that not only outs the fact that she is still alive, but Diane is innocent and she was deliberately being set up. […]
