Prince Harry & Meghan Markle Surprise Passengers On Flight To Australia
Passengers on a regular Qantas flight reveal the Sussexes were super friendly and approachable during their trip to Oz.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle officially landed in Australia for their four-day tour. Recently, reports arrived about mixed feelings surrounding their arrival in Melbourne and Sydney. While many critics predicted a cold reception, first reports from Australia suggest a much warmer atmosphere than expected. Read on to find out more.
Friendly & Approachable
Per the Today Show in Oz, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex arrived in Melbourne on a “regular Qantas flight” from Los Angeles. While they sat at the “pointy end” in business class, they didn’t avoid the other travelers. When they landed, a reporter said that many of them described the royal family couple as “super friendly” and surprisingly approachable.
One traveler on the flight noted that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle chatted to someone near the galley and restroom areas. “They were super friendly around the toilet areas,” they opined. Certainly, it seems that no pomp and circumstance prevented them from engaging in casual conversation despite the long-haul flight.
No ‘Diva” Stuff?
In fact, far from the “diva” behavior that so many critics love to talk about, those folks on the flight indicated that they appeared relaxed and casual. On the ground, one person with an Australian accent said they even got to chat about the kids, Lilibet and Archie a bit.

On camera, they said to Harry and Meghan, “I hope you have a lovely time in Melbourne and I’m sure you’ll enjoy Sydney.” Additionally, they added that sharing the same plane made the flight a bit more “exciting” than normal.
Low-Key Behavior
Meanwhile, another passenger mentioned they didn’t even realize who was sitting in front of them until the flight ended. “They look great,” they added, noting the couple’s casual travel style. But someone from LA didn’t seem over-impressed. After all, in places like that, celebs are a dime a dozen.
Some folks talked about how Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were met and after bypassing the usual customs and immigration thing, went off in “private” Range Rovers.
Next Up On The Initerary
In the video, the reporter moved on and spoke about how their first stop includes the Royal Children’s Hospital. That’s a reminder that the Sussex couple “follows in the footsteps” of the work done by the late Princess Diana.

Notably, it’s not an official royal visit as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle ditched that side of life. Some folks suspect it’s more about business and promotion than anything else. But certainly, those who actually met them suggest that some sentiment might be softer than the headlines claimed.
Viewers React
In the comments section of the video, some folks seemed surprised by the positivity, and hoped that would continue. But of course, as they’re polarizing, others snarked a bit. One commenter wrote, “Ashamed of all aussies that are gushing over this pair of grifters they are not royal so why give them air time.”
Here are a few more responses from the discussion:
- I thought they were irrelevant they are not working Royals so no one should be reporting about them.
- The irony is almost too rich. For years, the tabloids have insisted that Meghan is a grifter, that nobody likes her, and that she should just go away. Yet when she hosts a paid retreat in Australia, journalists are falling over themselves to get in.
- With all the criticisms…they keep on living their best lives and helping…we can all talk but they are doing.
