Bindi Irwin, the only daughter of the late Steve Irwin, the “Crocodile Hunter,” is an advocate for endometriosis, and recently, she updated her fans from across the world about her condition. It came after the Crikey! It’s the Irwins star needed to get her appendix removed.

Many Lesions From Endometriosis

Many women struggle with endometriosis, a painful condition where tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside of it. In fact, apart from pain and fatigue, it can lead to difficulties conceiving a child. So, her little girl, Grace, whom she and her husband, Chandler Powell, welcomed four years ago, was a bit of a miracle.

On Tuesday, May 13, Robert Irwin’s sister added a follow-up post about her surgery. Originally, she’d posted about needing to get her appendix seen to. As her initial endometriosis surgery was done stateside, she flew to New York for surgery. Then, she underwent more surgery for lesions. Her follow-up post arrived five days later.

In her Instagram feedback, she said that her doctor removed her appendix and worked on another “14 lesions.” While she was under, an old “hernia” from her pregnancy with Grace was also patched up. The Season 21 winner of Dancing with the Stars reminded her 5.1 million followers that a few years ago, her doctor removed “37 endometriosis lesions and a cyst.”

Family & Fans Reach Out In Support

Her absence from the Gala that her brother, Robert Irwin, hosted in Las Vegas might have worried her, but Bindi Irwin added, “Credit to Robert for hosting the evening, he did such an incredible job raising funds and awareness for Wildlife Warriors.”

As Robert was recently announced a competitor for the upcoming season of Dancing with the Stars, plenty of people are following Steve Irwin’s family closely. So, lots of messages arrived.

Robert told his sister in the comments, “Stay strong Bindi! Love you!” Meanwhile, Derek Hough, who partnered with Bindi Irwin for the Mirror Ball Trophy win, wrote, “My beautiful Angel Love you.”

Fans of the Australian Zoo and the many wildlife shows by the family also sent in their greetings and best wishes for a fast recovery. Here are a few of them:

  • Even post-surgery, you are an absolute well-spoken angel. Swift recovery, Bindi!
