Tori Roloff Shares Josiah’s Temptation Test – Did He Pass?
Tori Roloff has two sons, Josiah Roloff, nearly three, and Jackson Roloff, 7. This weekend, the Little People Big World (LPBW) alum shared with TLC fans how Josiah did on his temptation test.
The Test For Josiah
On the weekend, Tori Roloff took to her Instagram profile page and shared a reel that showed Josiah seated at a table. Next, she placed some candy on the table and told him he could eat the sweet treat, but only when she returned. Then, off she went for what seemed like ages, while she filmed her youngest son’s reactions.
Fortunately, he resisted the urge to eat the candy, so his mom said that he “passed with flying colors.” Actually, he did very well. However, once he got the chance to eat them, he gobbled them down fast, as if afraid she might change her mind.
Fans React In The Comments
LPBW fans took to the comments section of the post to talk about Josiah’s achievement. One of them wrote, “This is so cute! But he didn’t eat them until you came back!” Other comments arrived like “Wow, he did good on listening to Mom on not eating the candy,” and, “That’s so cute. He was so patient. His little expressions were awesome.”
It’s unclear whether Tori Roloff ever tested Lilah like she did with Josiah. However, ever since she could sit up, the cute little girl has been a snack addict. So, it’s perhaps something she would have struggled with.
Jackson Also Passed
In 2020, Jackson Roloff was about the same age as Josiah is now, and his mom did the temptation test with him as well. Although he also passed, he seemed way more frustrated and tempted when his mom was away. Notably, though, it should not be confused with Blanket Training, as the child isn’t punished if they do succumb to temptation.
Tori seems to enjoy placing candy in front of her young sons and instructing them not to eat it until she returns. Probably, it’s something she does to let them learn about resisting immediate gratification. That could serve them well when they become young adults.
This type of “temptation test” is a common way parents playfully gauge a young child’s self-control. Psychology Today carried an article that explained how, in later life, being able to resist immediate gratification can help adults learn to control, for example, eating sweet treats that are bad for them.
