Big Sky spoilers and updates tease that a familiar face will return to the ABC drama’s second season. John Carroll Lynch confirmed that he’ll be reprising his role of Montana state trooper Rick Legarski.

His return to the show was revealed during the Big Sky‘s virtual Q&A session at the Television Critics Association summer press tour. However, on what premise he’ll come back to the show remains to be seen because as fans know, Rick died at the hand of his wife in Season 1. Viewers will have to wait and see in what capacity lynch will be back in the new season.

It’s possible for the actor to play the twin brother of his season 1 alter ego. Fans may recall that it was mentioned that Rick had a twin last season. The new teaser for season 2 also showed Rick saying, “It’s like my brother always used to say: If you come to Big Sky, you’ll never leave.”

The second season of the David E. Kelly series is based on the books by C.J. Box. Private detectives Cassie Dewell (Kylie Bunbury) and Jenny Hoyt (Katheryn Winnick) work together to investigate a car accident that takes place outside of Helena Montana.

The pair eventually discovers that it’s not their usual car wreck. As they solve the mystery of the incident, Dewell and Hoyt will come across a group of teens, an outsider who’s hellbent on finding out the truth, and someone from Jenny’s past.

Big Sky Updates – Production Moves To New Mexico

Big Sky previously announced that it was moving its production on season 2 from Vancouver, British Columbia to Rio Rancho, New Mexico.

New Mexico Governor, Michelle Lujan Grisham said that The decision of Big Sky to film season 2 in New Mexico shows we have created a resilient and thriving film industry. This production will support jobs for thousands of New Mexicans well into 2022 and boost spending to the many local businesses that provide goods and services to this industry.”
