The Young And The Restless Spoilers: Billy’s Ingratitude Is The Problem – Sally Caught In Doom Spiral
The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) has an obstinate problem. His default mechanism is to reject help, especially from the ones he loves.
Jill Abbott (Jess Walton) wants to invest in Abbott Communications. She sees that as a way to make amends. Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope), Billy’s current champion, appreciates Jill’s desire to stand by her son and give him another opportunity to prove his worth.
But Billy sees Jill’s generosity as a new means of keeping him under her thumb. That reaction is another reason why the infamous nickname Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) gave him applies.
Victor Newman Is Mean But Right
Calling Thompson’s character “Billy-boy” dates back to the era when the late, great Billy Miller portrayed this character. Victor was infuriated that Jack Abbott’s (Peter Bergman) brother married Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle).
Victor’s fears were well-founded as both of Billy’s and Victoria’s marriages failed. However, one could counterpunch Braeden’s character by saying that he endorsed Ashland Locke (last played by Robert Newman), and he proved to be far worse than Billy ever has been. Yet, Victor never fully acknowledges his errors in judgment.
A fair assessment would side with Victor’s paternal instinct and reinforce that Billy continues to behave childishly in his middle-aged years. The latest go-round with his brother and mother reinforces that Victor’s meanness doesn’t disqualify his assessment of Billy’s demeanor.

Jill Abbott Is Doing All That’s Possible
Billy is jealous of the connection Jill and Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) share. He doesn’t care that Cane’s mother, Genevieve Ashby (Genie Francis), has been absent from his life or that his father just died.
No. Billy is about Billy, just as many immature children focus on themselves. But every child worldwide hasn’t had time to age into adulthood, when most people develop a sense of themselves.
Jill’s return to Genoa City, Wisconsin, was intended to heal her relationship with Billy. It didn’t work, and now her attempt to discreetly invest in Abbott Communications has hit a snag or worse. Jill didn’t want Sally to reveal her investment intentions, but that happened, and Billy reacted ungratefully.
Sally Spectra Must Reconsider Her Options
What is Sally getting out of being with Billy?
Yes, she’s come to care about him, and that is why they’re still together. Her recent acceptance of his seeming epiphany moment seemed like a tenuous reset rather than a breakthrough moment.
The problem with Billy, as Victoria and his other exes know, is that he doesn’t learn from his mistakes. While he’s outwardly stopped gambling with money, his reckless business risk-taking and self-sabotage are too much for any loved one to take indefinitely.
Billy might not realize it, but he’s still in danger of losing Sally. He’ll be forlorn and a threat to himself and others if she chooses to escape what feels like another doom spiral in the near future.

When Christine said she couldn’t wait to be “Mrs. Danny Romalotti” I thought I was going to throw up. She doesn’t even get to keep her first name? She just becomes Mrs. (husband’s name)? He identity gets completely obliterated? What century are we in? I would have refused to have spoken that line.
