Meghan Markle UK Visit Was A Stunt? We’re Not So Sure
Some royal commentators believe Meghan Markle's surprise return to Britain was another calculated PR move. The reporting suggests the story may not be that simple.

Podcasters and talk show hosts cannot stop talking about Meghan Markle. She just made a surprise return to the UK with her children right before the weekend. Most commentaries on the couple seem to boil down to personal opinion. That is probably why Prince Harry and his wife still dominate social media.
One Specific Angle
Neil Sean took a specific angle on the family in his recent vlog for Daily News Headlines. Some people think it is sweet that King Charles finally spent time with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. Sean sees it differently. He called Meghan a “struggling actress” who “thrives on attention.” He implied she relies on PR stunts.
Sean keeps repeating that “nothing happens by accident” in the royal family. He seems to apply that logic selectively. When William and Catherine appear in photos, he calls it strategic and “heartwarming.” With Meghan, he implies manipulation.

The reporting by The Mirror tells a simpler story. Buckingham Palace confirmed the family gathered at Highgrove House and said no photographs would be released because it was a private family occasion. That sounds like a family choosing privacy, not a media circus.
Other Voices
Other commentators see the situation differently. Express UK cited Robert Jobson, a royal biographer. Jobson questioned the setup on his Substack. He wondered why the public was told about the visit if Meghan and the kids “won’t be seen. Not in public. Not by us. So why tell us at all?”
Jobson argued that “you cannot have it both ways. The world must know they are here. The world must not see them. Pick one.” He is not defending Meghan. He is pointing out the inconsistency.
Prudence or Desperation?
Sean describes Meghan as someone who “loves the attention.” Per Newsbreak, author Tom Bower went further. He called the visit an act of “desperation and failure.” Bower claimed Meghan is “someone who is desperate for fame” and “desperate for money.”
Insiders from Meghan’s circle suggetsed a different story, noting that the real objective “was always the image.” Why? Because “Meghan understands the power of imagery better than almost anyone.”
A single picture with the King would have reminded the world of their royal status. The News cited a source who called that “branding gold.” Sean portrays it as attention-seeking. Her camp calls it business reality.
According to the unnamed source, “this wasn’t about family. It was about access. Royal association remains their most valuable asset.” It is an admission. It suggests Meghan is playing the same game as everyone else in the royal ecosystem.
Media Manipulation
Sean suggests the visit is just media manipulation. The reporting shows practical chaos. Harry’s UK trip was “shrouded in chaos from the start.”
There were flip-flops over whether the family would even travel because of ongoing security concerns.
Reports also suggested tensions behind the scenes. According to NewsBreak, one source claimed Meghan was “done” with the royals after Buckingham Palace reportedly withdrew an offer for Prince Harry to stay during an earlier visit.
The source said the decision left Meghan Markle “furious,” while Harry’s spokesperson described the reported withdrawal as “disappointing.”
If Sean wants to argue everything is carefully orchestrated, the reported withdrawal of the accommodation offer raises questions of its own. And it suggests there has been plenty of confusion and dysfunction on both sides.
A Concession
Sean did not mention Omid Scobie. In his book Endgame, Scobie claimed Meghan “never wants to step foot in England again” because she “never really felt at home” there. If true, showing up with the kids is a huge concession. That doesn’t immediately look like a publicity stunt.
Scobie also wrote that Harry is “ready to forget” his disagreements and “ready to move on past it.” That suggests a man trying to reconcile.
Sean claims King Charles “wanted to draw a line under the drama.” Yet the Palace confirmed Charles hosted them. If the King wanted to cut them off, he would not host them.
One report noted that the decision not to release photos “shattered” Meghan’s “dream to reset narrative.” But the Palace made that decision. If anything, the Palace controls the narrative here.
Without photos, this seems like an unprofitable stunt for Meghan Markle. Sean’s narrative leans heavily on bias. When William and Catherine act, it is strategic. When Meghan does it, it’s a stunt. The difference is just who is doing it.
