Unexpected On TLC Fans Traumatized By Kayleigh’s Birth

Unexpected on TLC is airing Season 6 and newcomers Kayleigh and Graham are in it. Both of the teens are 15 years old, and they welcomed their first child, a boy named Easton. Unfortunately, the birth came with complications that traumatized fans of the show.

Unexpected Stars Are Still Kids Themselves

Season 6 took a long time to roll around, and many TLC fans gave up on it. However, it finally arrived and people felt interested in the newcomers. Some viewers didn’t like Kayleigh much because she seemed spoiled by her parents. They gave her a car so she could see her baby daddy, Graham. Plus, she seemed reluctant to help out with chores: as if pregnancy was a sickness.

In fairness to the new Unexpected star, she did end up feeling like she had a sickness — a very painful one when the time came for her to have her first baby. As she’s a small girl, she struggled with the birth. Actually, those who watched the episode also struggled. Many of them felt that the hospital didn’t do a good job with the young TLC star.

Kayleigh’s Traumatic Birth

At first, Kayleigh thought that she would have a natural birth after an induction. However, it went wrong and the baby didn’t want to come out. After what seemed like forever, she ended up having a C-section. Feeling bad for her, Redditor u/mrsmushroom burst into print.

The OP wrote in shock:

Kayleighs traumatic labor… Holy wow! Did anyone else die a little watching this poor child? 50 some hours in the hospital. Ending in grahm crying, Kayleigh puking and an emergency c section. I like her line at the end during the talking head ‘they told me I never would have gotten him out anyway.” Ha. Glad she’s OK. I’m sure she’s traumatized from that delivery though. I know I am.

Other Unexpected fans agreed that they also felt traumatized on behalf of the TLC star. Meanwhile, others recalled their own bad experiences. Here are some of their reactions from the discussion:

  • Went into labor naturally, 50+ hours of labor and they decided the babies (sic) head was too big and he wasn’t coming out, so had an emergency c section. I feel her pain.
  • Totally had me crying.
  • This episode made me so emotional, I felt so bad for everything she had to go through, and honestly, I feel like they should have opted for the c-section much sooner. They put her and the baby at risk for way too long…,
  • …it was cruel to take away her epidural when he wasn’t coming out. He was too big to fit, and they should have been able to figure that out without reducing her epidural. That was practically torture for the poor girl. I don’t think the hospital staff she had did a good job, and I feel for Kayleigh.
