Finn fell to the ground in the alley behind the popular restaurant after the bullet Sheila intended to pump into Steffy, at close range, instead ripped through his chest. Steffy recoiled in horror, but Sheila retained enough composure to reload.
While Finn lay unconscious and gushing blood, Steffy implored Sheila as she warned her not to use her smartphone to call for help. Steffy sacrificed herself, unable to get past the push of the number nine on her digital screen.

Deacon continues to rationalize Sheila’s cowardly act of fleeing the back alley after arranging the scene to resemble a robbery gone awry.
He has bought into the kindred spirits angle Sheila has been playing. Even though she has come to be fond of Deacon, everyone can question whether her so-called love is a projection of survival.
Sheila has never made legal amends for the criminal acts she thievishly perpetrated against her son and his wife. She routinely claims aggrieved party status, as any lunatic narcissist would, because her crime victims will not offer forgiveness.

Finn is not concerned about Deacon’s safety. But if he were pushed, Novlan’s character would likely admit to fearing Deacon’s predicament rather than Sheila’s.
Hope has enjoyed a positive, redemptive relationship with her father since he was released from jail. That was built upon the written correspondence they shared while he was incarcerated.
But Deacon’s daughter is bound to learn the truth. It would seem likely Hope’s meeting with Finn earlier the same day will be followed by him rebroadcasting the stunning news he learns on B&B.
