The new season of Mama June: Family Crisis premiered in May this year, and once again, fans see drama from WEtv. Honey Boo Boo (Alana Thompson) and her sister Pumpkin (Lauryn Efird) clash with June Shannon after years of unhappiness. Actually, June has been a less-than-stellar mother and it turns out that one way to hurt Honey Boo Boo is to compare her to her mom. Caution: Spoilers follow. Mama June Family: Crisis – Honey Boo Boo Is Not So Cute Now
Fans watched Honey Boo Boo grow up ever since she was a toddler. Unfortunately, she didn’t have a happy life. Her dad and her mom split and there was drama. Next, her mom took up with Geno Doak who promised to never let her down. But, he did, and in the worst way. Recall, her mom ran off with him on a drug spree and blew a fortune. WEtv showed scenes of her youngest daughter weeping. And, she ended up living with her sister Pumpkin, who is the mom of four kids already.
Fans who follow Mama June Family: Crisis become increasingly nasty with Honey Boo Boo. Often, she does promos on TikTok and Instagram, which helps to earn her money. Actually, she probably has the most money in the family. Remember, Pumpkin arranged for lawyers to make her sister’s cash unavailable to June when she was selling off her last possessions to fund her drug addiction. But, money doesn’t make a person happy. More and more these days, she lashes out at her fans. So, she takes heat for being just like her mom: loud, foul-mouthed, and arrogant. But, she hates being compared to her mother, clearly believing she and her mother are like chalk and cheese.
Mama June Family: Crisis Spoilers – Honey Boo Boo & June In Therapy
In the new season, Pumpkin and her sister still reject the efforts by their mom to reconcile. Actually, neither of them trusts her and they don’t like that she took up with Justin Stroud so quickly. Anyway, as things are still red hot with disgust, they all went off to therapy. In the teaser shared by Shannon this week, fans saw them looking at a sliced-up apple meant to represent how anger and hurt can build up inside.
In the teaser for this week’s Mama June Family: Crisis episode, Honey Boo Boo looked glum. Mind you, all three women can look pretty on the outside but what comes out from the inside sometimes infuriates fans of the show. In the next segment, Alana seemed angry and complained, “I’m mad that these three right here think that I act like my mama.” Well, all she has to do perhaps, is go and revisit her lives and promos on TikTok to see how many people agree that she and her mom are not exactly chalk and cheese.
Chalk & Cheese?
The Mama June Family: Crisis star seemed really angry because she’s afraid of driving. Her mom can’t drive because of ehr eyes sight. So, taking a bat, she beat a punching bag and cried. Yes, she sure hates being compared to her mom. Well, a lot of fans seemed to be sympathetic, because who would want to be compared to Shannon? But others think that she is a lot like her mom. But they do not blame her for it.
One follower opined, “You do act like your mama. Literally, that’s what you grew up hearing from your mama who can’t drive due to her blindness. It serves your mom well. Being needy has always gotten her attention and a hall pass for her to be forgiven. Because she physically needs help. So yes you’re acting what you heard growing up.”
Those who felt sorry for Honey Boo Boo also expressed their feelings. One of them wrote, “The pain on Alana’s face I haven’t seen her cry since the intervention and when she moved in with Pumpkin.”
Soon, Alana will be at college. That’s one thing that she did differently from her mama. She’s breaking the cycle and getting out of the rut that she grew up in. Hopefully, as she matures into an adult, she will learn to become her own person and not a carbon copy of her mother.
