General Hospital (GH) Spoilers: Epiphany’s Inspired To Become A Doctor After Witnessing A Misdiagnosis?
General Hospital (GH) spoilers and rumors tease that General Hospital Head Nurse Epiphany Johnson (Sonya Eddy) will be inspired to become a full doctor after Marshall Ashford’s (Robert Gossett) possible misdiagnosis!
General Hospital Spoilers – Marshall Ashford Asked Epiphany Johnson Why She Never Became A Full Doctor
General Hospital viewers will recall that as Marshall and Epiphany talked, and she opened up a little more about herself and her life to him, he asked her why she never became a full doctor. That is a valid question, considering General Hospital has had many female doctors going back to the 1970s – Dr. Lesley Webber,(Denise Alexander) Dr. Monica Quartermaine, (Leslie Charleson) and others, to name a few. General Hospital was always proactive in promoting women to become doctors, and it has always been a welcoming environment even when there were very few women going into the medical field beyond nursing! Epiphany kind of hemmed and hawed at Marshall’s question, and told him how her nursing career had always been fulfilling for her-and he encouraged her that she could do more! Then, during their first date at the Port Charles Grille, something happened that made her really think!
General Hospital Updates – Marshall Ashford Suffered A Cardiac Event
General Hospital viewers will remember that as Marshall and Epiphany were enjoying their first date, Marshall suddenly clutched his upper chest in great pain, and then he collapsed, and Epiphany started trying to assist and called for help! Luckily for Marshall, Dr. Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) and Nurse Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst) were also on their first date a few tables over, and they came rushing over to assist! General Hospital viewers will recall that they got Marshall to the emergency room of General Hospital walking, presumably Marshall refused an ambulance, which viewers were surprised his wishes weren’t overridden by Epiphany and Finn at least! It turned out after testing that Marshall’s blood pressure had gotten too high, and the attending physician in the emergency department, a Dr. Rose (uncredited actor) changed his blood pressure medication. Marshall assured Epiphany it had happened to him before and he would be okay; but that Dr. Rose insulted Epiphany!
Dr. Rose And His Nerve – You Don’t Go Around Insulting Epiphany Johnson!
General Hospital viewers who know anything about Epiphany at all know Dr. Rose had some nerve because you don’t go around insulting Epiphany and get away with it! General Hospital viewers know that Epiphany is usually a lot more, shall we say, assertive than she was the night Marshall had a cardiac event on their first date that could be a lot more serious! Epiphany knew she was dealing with Doctor Macho Ego when she questioned his quick diagnosis of Marshall, and he set her in her “place” quickly, reminding her she was only a nurse and he was a doctor!
It’s a good thing she wasn’t Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) or Dr. Rose might have been the late Dr. Rose, but his egotistical attitude inspires Epiphany; Marshall is right-and she decides to pursue a full medical degree! It may take a few years but she can already fast track her way to a Physician’s Assistant degree, to begin with, and be able to help people more than she can now!
