The Bold and The Beautiful (B&B) spoilers and updates tease that fans of B&B knew the young Hope Logan as someone who was decidedly different from her mother Brooke, in fact, her character was originally described as “a polar opposite of what her mother Brooke once was.”

Hope Logan’s birth was the result of a scurrilous affair between Brooke Logan and Deacon Sharpe.

At the time she was conceived, Deacon Sharpe, played by Sean Kanan, was married to Brooke’s oldest daughter and Hope’s elder sister, Bridget Forrester.

Deacon Sharpe was abused by his father while growing up in a poor neighborhood.

The Bold and The Beautiful star first hit the scene in 2000, as the biological father of “Little Eric” who was being raised by Rick Forrester, played by Jacob Young, and Amber Moore, played by Adrienne Frantz, who had been passing the child off as her son.

After it is discovered, Deacon is convinced to pursue custody of his son.

Then, amazingly, Deacon begins pursuing a relationship with Amber and quickly convinces her to move in with him and the boy after she is led to believe that Rick Forrester was cheating on her.

Deacon Sharpe is an alcoholic and so alcohol is a recurring theme in the drama that follows him and those connected with him.

The Bold And The Bold And The Beautiful Updates – Who Plays Deacon Sharpe On B&B?

Deacon Sharpe has been a character on The Bold and The Beautiful for over 20 years – a period of time in which most characters in soaps would have been recast several times.

That, however, has not been the case with Deacon Sharpe, who has been portrayed by Sean Kanan since 2000 when the character was created.

Sean Kanan has featured in at least 20 films as well as numerous television shows.

He has had several roles in soap operas including the role of AJ Quartermaine on General Hospital that stretched from 1993 all the way to 2014.

In 1994 he was nominated for the Soap Opera Digest Award for Outstanding Male Newcomer for his role in General Hospital, and in 1997 he was nominated for an Online Film and Television Association Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Daytime Serial for the same role.

Since he began portraying Deacon Sharpe, he has been nominated for a Daytime Emmy for America’s Favorite Couple (shared with Katherine Kelly Lang) and a Soap Opera Digest Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor.
