The Young and The Restless (Y&R) spoilers and updates tease that Sean Carrigan, who plays Ben “Stitch” Rayburn will now be staying on The Young And The Restless after what started as a short reprisal of his character.
The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Sean Carrigan’s First Stint Was From 2013-2017 As An Army Friend Of Dylan McAvoy
Longtime viewers of The Young and The Restless will recall that Sean’s first stint as Stitch was from 2013-2017. He came to Genoa City as a friend of Dylan McAvoy’s (Steve Burton) from the army. Stitch had served as a medic in the squad with Dylan, which is where he got the nickname “Stitch.” He came to Genoa City and met up with Dylan after Dylan contacted him about being the best man at his wedding.
Dylan was engaged to Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) at the time, but the marriage only lasted a short time. Viewers of The Young and The Restless will recall he was pregnant with Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) at the time, and Dylan delivered Connor. Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) who had been presumed dead returned, and Dylan just couldn’t compete with Adam and got an annulment. Dylan left town in 2017, but Stitch stayed a little longer.
The Young And The Restless Updates – Ben Rayburn Marries Abby Newman
Longtime viewers of The Young and The Restless will recall that Stitch married Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) in 2015 but left town in 2017 after she suffered a miscarriage thanks to the prank of his son Max Rayburn (Jared Breeze). Max was suffering from a brain tumor with many behavioral complications thought to have been caused by it. Max had been resentful of his new stepmother, and when Stitch told Max that Abby was pregnant he fantasized about pushing Abby down the stairs.
After a talk with Stitch, Max had a sudden change of heart and then suggested they throw Abby a surprise baby shower, but he was faking. Viewers of The Young and The Restless will remember that he eyed the stairs with a sinister grin and tied fishing wire across the stairs, causing Abby to trip. A brokenhearted Ben left town after his and Abby’s marriage ended in divorce.
Ben “Stitch” Rayburn Comes Back To Genoa City
More recently, viewers of The Young and The Restless will recall that Stitch came back to Genoa City for a short visit – he said he was attending the retirement party of a mentor at Memorial Hospital. But with Sean Carrigan’s life imitating art, Stitch has stayed much longer and so has Sean. Stitch is moving to Genoa City permanently to take the job of the mentor who retired, so he again will be a doctor at Memorial Hospital.
As Stitch’s storyline plays out and extends, so will Sean’s return to The Young and The Restless. Current storylines have Stitch possibly being considered as a person of interest in a kidnapping, with him being the last person to see a missing Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes). Mariah was revealed in a current promo being locked and a room and demanding to be let out to go home! Time will tell whether Stitch is responsible for her disappearance or someone else is!
