Netflix’s Bridgerton News: 5 Reasons Why Everyone Is Talking About This Regency SeriesBridgerton news and updates reveal it’s only been around for one hot minute, but it didn’t take long at all for it to become one of the most successful original Netflix productions. Of course, we are talking about the hugely popular Netflix series Bridgerton, which tell the story of eight close-knit siblings of the powerful Bridgerton family as they attempt to find love during the Regency era in England. Here are five reasons why everyone is talking about it on your social media feed right now.

#1 Fans Can’t Get Enough Of The Jane Austen Era

Remember that one college course called Women in 19th Century Europe that you took? Well, it might have been a few years since you last wrote your paper on why the regency era carries such an appeal as a period backdrop but fast-forward to the present day and this sentiment hasn’t changed at all. Jane Austen’s devoted fan base

#2 Everyone Loves A Modern Mr. Darcy

Of course, we can’t talk about Bridgerton without mentioning the series’ male lead: Rege-Jean Page, who plays Simon Basset. #3 The Regency, The Jewels And The 19th Century Fashion

Costume designer Ellen Mirojnick recently went on the record to say that Bridgerton’s clothes are certainly the “diamond of the season.” She told Page Six in an interview, “My main objective was to create a world that was aspirational, that I could take regency and twist it enough and be able to add modern elements. The costume choices create a new feeling for 1813 that absolutely fit with the modern twists and turns of the show.”

#4 That Spoon Scene

Everyone can’t stop talking about the scene in which Rege-Jean Page’s character Simon Basset licked a spoon. In fact, the fictional Duke of Hasting’s sex symbol has skyrocketed so much in recent weeks that the spoon has gotten its own Instagram account.

#5 Those Steamy Scenes

Of course, we can’t talked about Bridgerton without mentioning all of those steamy scenes that the show is so far known for. In fact, actress Phoebe Dynevor, who plays Daphne Bridgerton on the hit series, recently said that whenever she watches with her mother, actress Sally Dynevor, she makes sure to have the remote control in her hands just so she can fast-forward through all of the more uncomfortable scenes!
