Angela Bassett Says She Doesn’t Help Her Kids With Their Homework

Angela Bassett is the kind of mother who would do just about anything for her kids, but if there is one thing that she refuses to do, is help or do their homework. The Hollywood actress shares her two 13-year-old twins, Slater and Bronwyn, with her husband, Courtney B. Vance and reveals that they’ve got quite interesting characters, too!

During an interview with Jimmy Kimmel Live, the Black Panther star opened up about her kids along with her own thoughts about the recent college admissions scandal. Several Hollywood actresses and about 50 prominent parents in the business world were recently indicted on fraud charges for their participation in one of the biggest college recruitment scandals ever seen.

When asked if she would pay a significant sum of money to help her kids achieve success at school, Angela said the answer is no. What’s more, she also said that her kids are quite independent when it comes to their school studies, too.

Angela explained,

“They are in public school. I went to public school. Turned out OK. I do not help them with their homework. They’re doing Ted talks at school. My son did something on ‘do aliens exist.’ My daughter did ‘do dragons exist.’ I let my friend who is visiting tell him ‘you need to simplify it.’ He didn’t [follow her advice]. It went very well, he gets very far on charisma, but no one understood what his Ted talk was about.”

Ha! It’s without a doubt that her kids definitely take after their famous parents. Seeing how they love to be in the spotlight, we wouldn’t be surprised if they followed both Angela and Courtney’s footsteps into the entertainment world.
