Parenting Must: How to Find More Energy Each Day
Do you feel like you never have enough energy to face the day? That cup of coffee not giving you the pick me up it used to? You’re not alone. In fact, most of us wake up each day just as tired as when we went to sleep and the fix is not what you think it is. When you need to find more energy each day it is not because you need sleep. It is because your body needs a change.
When you feel low on energy a possible reason can be low Vitamin D3. Drinking milk and spending a bit of time in the sun with or without sunscreen is not enough Vitamin D3 to keep your bodily systems in working order. A 5000 IU Vitamin D3 is a great start.
Change your diet. I diet packed with fresh high fiber produce can give you a big energy boost but giving you strong fuel and helping your body clean out toxins that slow you down. Add more healthy fruits and veggies to each meal and enjoy them as part of protein packed snacks.
Eat more often. Crashing blood sugar levels can zap energy and leave you feeling lethargic long before the day is over. Pairing a healthy carb such as fruits and veggies with a protein can give you the biggest boost and keep blood sugar level. Keep easy to enjoy snacks in your bag like trail mix with raisins, carrots with a side of nuts, or apples and your favorite nut butter.
Ditch the sugar. Sugar while known for making kids hyper actually slows the body down and makes it function poorly. Cutting dietary sugar can make a big difference in the energy you have after a couple short weeks of cutting back.
You could be spending too much time in front of a screen. You hear parents discuss screen time all the time. Yet, odds are you never thought about how much you are getting. All day we face computers, televisions, and mobile devices. The blue light admitted by these devices has been proven to reduce the quality of sleep we get. Try to put your device away before be and give your body and mind time to settle so the sleep you do get is better quality.
Perhaps the hardest for some of us. Find time for yourself. When you find time to spend in quiet alone or doing something you love you give yourself what you need to find a new zest for life. Wonder into your favorite bookstore, take nice bubble bath, or enjoy a hobby. Just find something that makes you happy and do it.
