Billy Ray Cyrus is trying to do right by his loved ones after saying that fame “destroyed my family” and that he was “scared” for daughter Miley Cyrus.

Now Billy Ray says he is examining himself because “It is very important to me to work on mending my family right now” he said.

Calling his recent comments “explosive, and unintentionally so,” Billy Ray says, “My family is the most important thing I have, and we are working together to make sure our future is stronger and healthier.”

Billy Ray, who had retreated to his Tennessee farm and filed for divorce last autumn, has been spending time recently in Los Angeles with wife Tish, 43, and youngest daughter Noah, 11.

“It is all a learning process, and we thank everyone for their support and respect of our privacy as we sort through very important family issues,” he says.
