Tia Mowry dishes on pregnancy in new book, “Oh, Baby!”

Tia Mowry dishes on pregnancy in new book, "Oh, Baby!" 0504It’s been an emotional journey for television star, Tia Mowry, and she’s ready to let the public in on what it’s been like being a “hot mama” for nine-month-old son, Cree Taylor Hardrict. The Game star said she penned her book, Oh, Baby: Pregnancy Tales and Advice from One Hot Mama to Another so women could have a friendly, funny take on pregnancy and motherhood instead of just stone cold medical facts.

“I think with a lot of pregnancy books, it all came from a medical standpoint, and you were missing the fun, kind of girlfriend approach,” she told People. “You don’t want to be constantly reminded of all the bad things that can possibly go on through your pregnancy. You want to feel empowered.”

Although the book has a humorous side, Tia says it offers a “realistic perspective” on the experience, covering everything from cravings to morning sickness, unfortunately something she experienced round the clock. “I don’t mind sharing with the world the most amazing gift that God has ever given to me. I think it’s good to basically share with my fans what it’s like to be a mom, the joys and the challenges.”

One of the challenges Tia faced, that eventually led to her growing empowered, was going back to work only 2 1/2 months after delivering Cree last June. She said it was difficult at first but then it changed her perspective on why she was even continuing to act.

“I had to change my perspective on the whole thing and say, ‘I am doing this for my son. I am working to give him a better life,’” she said, “to provide him and my family with the best.”
