The Young And The Restless Spoilers: Cane’s Blind Faith in Billy Is Headed for Disaster

The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) was blindsided by Jill Abbott’s (Lauren Koslow) unexpected return to Genoa City, Wisconsin. Then he took another emotional punch to the gut during their reunion conversation.
Billy remains averse to Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn). That’s logical based on the Aristotle Dumas catastrophe and the multiple times the revealed Cane didn’t deliver on what was promised.
Cane is all talk and self-centered action, in Billy’s mind. But Jill remains loyal to the man Thompson’s character has seen as a charlatan for many years.
Cane Ashby’s Non-Blood Ties Run Deep
Devoted viewers recall that Cane (then played by Daniel Goddard) came to town under a veiled persona. He was believed to have been Jill’s lost son, which was later proven true.
However, much to Billy’s resonating chagrin, Jill has continued to treat Cane like a son. Her marriage to Cane’s late father, Colin Atkinson (Tristan Rogers), was a clear reason why that bond was strengthened.
Billy can’t grasp why his own mother would forgive Cane all his provable transgressions but continue to hold him to seemingly impossibly high standards. While not technical siblings, Billy has behaved as though he’s caught in a sibling rivalry for Jill’s affection.
Billy Abbott Should Focus On His Growing Family
Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) developed into the new love of his life after the writing staff wrote her and Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) apart. Viewers recall that Adam and Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) were re-paired as a result.

Billy’s family extended when he committed to marry Sally, with her acceptance of his marriage proposal not being a major surprise. But the baby she’s carrying was, and much to Sally’s delight, Billy embraced their first child.
Sally’s miscarriage will forever remain a point of sadness, with that being a major reason why Billy should drop petty squabbles with Cane and Jill. Sally and the baby deserve and need his direct attention.
Jill Abbott Can’t Play Miracle Worker
Jill’s heart issues were serious but are clearly manageable because she was able to fly home for a visit with her sons. Use of the term at the end of the last sentence was intended as a jab at Billy’s sensibilities.
Billy’s mother intends to address what amounts to misconceptions. She’s already gotten through to Cane, who is lobbying Lily Winters (Christel Khalil).
Khalil’s character is naturally apprehensive about Cane’s idea to invite Billy to be part of Chancellor. Cane’s desire to deliver on Jill’s hopes is sincere and noble. But it would take a miracle for Billy to stop being Billy, meaning that Lily rightly recognizes the high potential, if not certainty, for Jill’s so-called sons to clash as they have been doing for years.
However, soaps are based on tension. Maybe Lily conditionally agrees to Cane’s suggestion and gives Billy a conditional offer with consequences for bad behavior.
