Kody Brown was estranged from his sons, Gabe and Garrison Brown, but he vowed to become the best dad. That came in January on his 55th birthday. But, since then, Garrison Brown took his own life, and several other kids dissed the TLC patriarch. Read on to find out more.

Kody Brown Vowed To Make Things Right

Recently, Christine Brown sued her ex for child support regarding the youngest daughter, Truely. In fact, the case plays out in court at the moment. So, it seems that since his January birthday, the TLC star hasn’t been a great dad to his daughter. Then, it seems that there are some current issues with other adult children.

Kody Brown was the target of a clapback by Maddie Brown Brush after he accused her of being a gossip in the family. That came since his birthday as well. Even Mykelti Padron seems unhappy with her father. So, Sister Wives fans might diss the idea that he vowed to make things right with his kids.

Sister Wives Fans See Kody Being A Great Dad?

In the current season of the show, the Sister Wives patriarch has been his usual grumpy self. But, his birthday came around, and he decided that at 55, he must make things right with his kids. Perhaps that’s why TLC showed him paying Jenga with the children in Robyn’s family.

Kody Brown doesn’t seem to have made much headway with his vows to be a great dad. The TLC star said in Sunday’s episode that he lives a sweet life with Robyn Brown, but not with the rest of his family. The TLC star added:

I have tons of guilt because I’m not more involved with everybody else that’s out there…Today, is my 55th birthday and I have, with God, in covenant form, reasserted myself to from here on out, be the loving father and the dad that has always given me purpose in my life. Onward and upward with the goals in life and making my family whole again. That’s my desire.

TLC Fans React To Vows

There was some confusion about whether the vows were made in 2024 or 2023. Either way, fans disbelieve he really wanted to fix his relationship with his children. So, it didn’t matter to TLC viewers on Reddit how the network edited the story. Sister Wives fan u/Unlikely_Accident_23 wrote:

That speech last night sounded like 2024 Kody, post Garrison’s passing. We’re already sure TLC is playing fast and loose with editing this season, so I wouldn’t surprise me. I doubt he felt that way for his 2023 bday or even his 2024 bday (Garrison passed in March, Kody’s bday in January). I think that whole spiel was…filmed recently but made to look like it was his 2023 bday. Anyways, even if it was all actually 2023 footage, we know he didn’t act on it…

Other Sister Wives fans took it all with a pinch of salt as well. And, it hardly mattered when his birthday was. One follower said in the discussion, “Kody’s birthday is like January 17 and apparently Google has his year wrong so the 55th birthday thing was Jan 2023. Even if Google was right his bday is in January and I believe Garrison passed away in March.”
