The Derricos Return To TV, But When Can Fans Expect The Premiere?

TLC fans fell in love with the massive family when Doubling Down With The Derricos premiered, but it disappeared rather quietly. Nevertheless, there was talk of a return. Is there any progress? When can fans expect to see more of Deon, Karen, and their 14 kids: Darian; Derrick; twins Dallas and Denver; quints Deniko, Dariz, Deonee, Daician, and Daiten; twins Diez and Dior; and triplets Dawsyn, De’Aren, and Dyver. A Family-Friendly Favorite

When Karen and Deon Derrico first appeared back in 2020, fans loved the family dynamic. Deon seemed successful, Karen was a wonder-mom, and the kids ranged from cute to more cuteness. But, you might recall that questions were asked about an older son who seemed estranged from the family. Then, there was talk about some business deals that might have been a bit shady.

While some people fell away from watching Doubling Down with the Derricos, one shining light kept folks returning. That was GG, Deon’s mom. She suffered from cancer, went into remission, and then it came back. Her brave fight and the family support, brought some warm moments to the show.

Things Got Toxic

Things seemed good until Karen and Deon got divorced. Toxic scenes put off a lot of folks, and the 5th edition passed on without many people shedding any tears.  Nevertheless, Deon still has over 150K followers, so clearly there is a fan base who will tune in and watch if another season ever comes along.

At the end of last year, AOL carried a report that the Derricos made a surprising decision: they opted out of working with TLC. Instead of another season under the old name, Deon Derrico told followers to expect a new show simply called The Derricos. Either they would film themselves, or they’d hook up with another network.

Updates On The New Show

On Mother’s Day this week, Deon shared a photo of GG and told his followers that she’s doing okay, except for some frailty and she doesn’t get around easily these days. In the comments section, plenty of people wondered again when the new show might drop. But, there were no answers that satisfied anyone.

Either it was too off topic, or it’s all still under wraps. All fans know is that repeatedly, Deon Derrico told them that they can expect what he calls “Season 6” to drop in 2026.

So we hunted around through old posts. Seven weeks ago, in the comments of another post, a fan asked the patriarch when they could expect a return to their screens. In the replies, he quietly answered, “We’re shooting for a May release.”

With only a few weeks left in May, there’s little time left for marketing or a formal announcement. But that doesn’t mean it won’t happen. For now, fans can only wait and watch his social media closely.
