FDA Advises Ditch These Walmart Products In Recall Warning

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in the USA has warned folks to be on the lookout for some potentially dangerous food products from Walmart. Parents, pay attention, because if you find them, you might need to ditch them to avoid injury to your family. Read on for more details.
Recent Recalls & Warnings
There has been a spate of recalls and warnings about products sold in Walmart. Recently, a warning about potentially radioactive shrimp went out. And, there were other warnings. Several products, including pasta dishes, had listeria in them. And now, a new warning involves a sweet treat.
Of course, warnings are not there to terrify customers, but people should be aware that sometimes, certain batches of food products might end up with some type of contamination. In the past, there were concerns about products in other countries as well. For instance, Haribo’s Fizzy Cola in the Netherlands contained cannabis.
The Latest Walmart Recall
Parade reported on Wednesday that the Walmart product flagged by the FDA involved Tru Fru products. The fear is that some folks might find “bits of metal” inside the freeze-dried treats. Specifically, the warning went out for “the Tru Fru Dried Strawberries In Dark & White Chocolate and the Tru Fru Freeze Dried Strawberries & Crème.”

It is not clear how the contamination happened, but possibly it happened during production. And some bits of metal were found because the original notification arrived via consumers who made the report. Of course, chewing down on bits of metal could cause injuries. And, if swallowed, even more complications could arise.
Specific Batches & Stores?
The FDA warning noted the recalled products at Walmart were also marketed via Sam’s Club, CVS, Food Lion, H-E-B, Hungryroot, Ingles Markets, Kroger, Stew Leonard’s, and Target. They are available in-store and online. So, check the food cupboard for them.
So far, nobody ended up injured, but it’s best not to take any chances. The Georgia Nut Company in Illinois manufactured the products.
What To Do if You Find It?
According to the FDA, most products can be returned for a refund. However, it’s not a bad idea to make sure they end up in the trash to prevent anyone from eating them. Of course, not panicking is important. Report it, obviously. Check the product out, and actually, it’s not a bad idea to keep abreast of recalls all the time.
Historically, many items were recalled, and not just from Walmart. Thanks to food safety standards, FDA authorities are usually quick to put out advisories. If you suspect anyone in your family may have consumed something bad, remember to get medical advice.
