Country music star Thomas Rhett and his wife, Lauren Akins, told their fans in August that they are expecting to add a fifth child to their family. And this week, Thomas updated about the baby’s gender. Read on to find out more details.

Taste of Country reported that in an interview, more details arrived about the gender of their new child. The talented son of Rhett Akins explained that he and Lauren don’t want to know what gender their child will be.

He told the outlet that the idea of waiting feels a bit “terrifying.” Nevertheless, they think that the surprise will make the moment even more special. Fans also found out that the baby arrives in March next year.

Getting candid in the interview, Thomas Rhett added:

We are going to wait until the day of [delivery] to figure out what the gender is… There’s not many surprises left in this world, and I feel that’s one that you kinda get to be surprised with, if you choose to

In the caption, the outlet said on Instagram, “Thomas Rhett and his wife, Lauren are expecting their fifth child in 2026, and he just exclusively revealed to Taste of Country Nights something about that baby’s gender.”
