Robert Irwin Honors His Dad Steve Ahead Of Dancing With The Stars

Steve Irwin was just a little boy when his dad, “Crocodile Hunter” Steve Irwin passed away. He followed his dad’s legacy and does a lot of conservation work. This week, the uncle of little Grace, Bindi’s daughter, honored his dad ahead of Dancing With the Stars. Read on for more details.

Honoring Steve

On August 24, Robert shared a post on his Instagram account about his visit to his father’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. He revealed he was in Los Angeles due to his participation as a contestant on the upcoming 34th season of the ABC show Dancing With the Stars. It premieres on September 16.

In the video, a smiling Robert crouched beside the star and said to his followers, “How cool is that?”

Robert Irwin, known for Crikey! It’s The Irwins and his work at the Australia Zoo also added in his caption, “This is so special.”

Robert’s older sister, Bindi Irwin, was among the first to comment, writing that she is certain their father is proud of him. As fans know, the Irwin family’s father, Steve, passed away in 2006 at the age of 44 following an injury from a short-tail stingray.

“I know Dad is SO proud of you,” Bindi wrote.

Fans can’t wait to see Robert on DWTS, especially as his older sister took the Mirrorball Trophy 10 years ago. They also loved his dad, who did so much for conservation awareness. Naturally, their love now passes on to his only son.
