Erin Bates, Bringing Up Bates Alum In Health Crisis

Erin Bates from Bringing Up Bates, formerly on UPTV, is facing a scary health crisis after she welcomed her latest baby. It’s not the first time that she has run into trouble with health issues, either. Read on for more details.
Scary health Issues
It’s been four years since Erin underwent surgeries to remove ruptured cysts and an ovary. But that’s not the problem she’s dealing with right now. At the time, Bringing Up Bates fans feared she might not have any more children. However, she just welcomed her seventh child.

E! News reported that following the birth of her new son, Henry, with her husband, Chad Paine, she fell very ill. The outlet reported that she “developed a severe UTI and kidney infection, and suffers from ‘septic shock.” Henry’s her seventh baby, but Erin once said she hoped for at least 10 kids.
Apparently, the former reality TV star has been described as “critically” ill and currently remains in the “ICU.” The outlet also cited Chad as saying that Erin Bates struggled with the delivery of the baby boy, who is also in the hospital in “the NICU” He also asked for prayers for his wife.
Fans Respond On Social Media
When the outlet posted their article on Instagram, UPTV fans had a chance to comment on the health scare. Most of them seemed very supportive, but others, who have a problem with the Bates family and the Duggars “pumping out so many children,” were less sympathetic. One of those critics wrote, “Stop having kids then?”
However, other reactions were mixed, while some folks shared their own experiences. Here are some of those reactions:
- As someone who survived septic shock, UTI kidney damage and coma it’s no joke.
- Apparently they’ve said in the past I believe that her Dr told her to stop after 4 or so because of health issues and they haven’t. I really hope she’s going to be okay.
- Maybe consider the children you already have! They need their Mother!!! It’s not a contest!!!!
- These people don’t know when to stop.
- May God heal her and keep her safe especially for those babies.
The Belief In Raising Many Children
The chances of Erin Bates stopping future pregnancies seem slim. After all, the Bates and Duggar families, both deeply religious, are part of the “Quiverfull” movement. They base their beliefs on a verse from the Bible, interpreting it as God’s instruction to welcome as many children as possible.
They view each child as a blessing and, as a rule, don’t use contraception. Some fans think that Jinger Duggar might be an exception. However, as they believe God decides how many kids they should have, it could be seen as a sin to not fall pregnant as often as possible.
As you can see from the comments, many reality TV fans still struggle to get their heads around it.
