Makeup Eating Influencer Passes Away At Just 24

A popular influencer who ate makeup and entertained thousands of followers has died at the age of 24. Her name was Guava Shuishui and for some reason lots of people called her “Water.” she hailed from Taiwan. Read on for more details.

Guava seemed like a very attractive and vivacious person, which helped her gain popularity. While she mainly focused on beauty, her posts seemed a bit strange because she often ate makeup. The Sun US reported that she used to taste “products as she tested them.”

In Southeast Asia, it is apparently becoming a popular trend to chow down on makeup, and it’s called “mukbang.” The outlet noted, “The influencer created mukbang videos, in which she would eat makeup products, including lipstick, blush, face masks and cotton pads.”

It’s not clear if Guava died from eating odd meals while filming. However, the Instagram page that notified about Guava’s death translated from Chinese to read:

Battling with a sudden ailment…my beloved Guava Shuishui. May 24, 2025 has gone to heaven. For the love of makeup, Shuishui who enjoyed delicious food better than anyone in the world. [She is] in a place where it no longer hurts.

Fans React To The Sad News

All of the comments arrived in Chinese, but according to the translation, many people feel devastated. One of them said, “Is this true… I don’t want to believe it…I hope you are as beautiful as in heaven, so cute and so happy.”

A cosmetics accounts wrote, “Omg so shocked. I hope [she] can always be happy and beautiful.”

Another follower penned, “I can’t believe it. Always remember when we met earlier this year you and I said you wanted to travel alone in Italy.”

Is Eating It Dangerous?

Although the death of the influencer wasn’t given in any detail, it does raise the question about whether it’s safe to eat cosmetics. According to Healthline, there are some very nasty products in certain types of cosmetics. They range from powders through to lipsticks, skin lighteners, and more.

One additive that can cause people to become resistant to antibiotics is Triclosan. It’s put into products to “reduce the risk of contamination with bacteria.” Additionally, you might find cancer-causing agents like Phthalates. It might be in hair sprays, nail polish, and other cosmetic products.

Here’s a list of other possibly dangerous ingredients:

• Formaldehyde,
• Asbestos,
• Lead,
• Thimerosal,
• Mercury, and
• Carbon Black.

An Eating Disorder

There is a disorder known as Pica as well. It is a condition where someone regularly craves and eats things that aren’t food and have no nutritional value.

Of course, little kids eat all sorts of things, but it usually gets a diagnosis if the person does it for more than three months and is old enough to know what is edible and what is not.

There was a reality TV show that aired on TLC called My Strange Addiction. Some of the folks on the show ate some weird things like tissue paper, glass, bags, and some had an appetite for frankly, very gross non-edibles.
