The Young And The Restless Spoilers: Cole’s Grim Diagnosis Forces Claire to Re-evaluate Everything

The Young and The Restless: Cole Howard (J. Eddie Peck)

The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Cole Howard’s (J. Eddie Peck) sudden, seemingly undiagnosed illness was odd.

His condition appeared after he returned from a trip abroad, implying that whatever he contracted was connected to his overseas venture.

Cole’s relatively recently restored family, Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) and Claire Newman (Hayley Erin), were with him when he nearly collapsed in the tack house. Viewers knew those scenes wouldn’t have happened unless something serious was going to be eventually confirmed.

Then, at Crimson Lights, Cole reappeared and was okay, or he was initially. However, his health is clearly in the spotlight as the spring winds its rainy way toward summer.

Woozy At Crimson Lights With Victoria Newman

Victoria always made Cole weak in the knees. But the retort he offered his renewed love didn’t create a blush. Instead, it reinforced her concern.

Cole isn’t past whatever illness this is. However, naming it an illness is also a guess because viewers don’t have enough intel to know what’s actually wrong with Peck’s character.

Asking Cole to move into the tack house was the next step in what should be an uplifting revival storyline. Fans hadn’t seen Cole in many years until he was written back into the show via Jordan Howard (Colleen Zenk). So, it’s sad that Peck might be working his farewell arc.

Cole Howard’s Long Goodbye This Summer

Cole returned to Genoa City, Wisconsin, because he was lured there. His aunt’s diabolical plot and Claire’s conspiring with her put his life at risk.

Thankfully, those murderous plans were foiled, and everyone lived. It took a while for Jordan to face justice, and through her own irrational choices, she also ended up in a grave.

Now, a while later in real and soapy time, Peck’s current storyline appears to involve his character facing a severe health crisis. It’s one that Cole can certainly beat, as the writers might be offering a head fake to the audience. Here’s hoping that proves true.

Claire Newman’s Delay Tactic Is Complicated

Claire doesn’t know it yet, but her focus is going to shift to her father. She is naturally invested in her developing relationship with Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor).

Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) planned sabotage will only be part of Claire’s concern. Assuming Cole’s condition worsens, or he is headed toward the end, Erin’s character will soon be distracted.

Deciding not to live with Kyle is merely a delay tactic. But that’s one she’s chosen.

Dealing with her father’s potentially terminal condition will prove sobering and reset Claire’s focus in ways she won’t be able to control. Having her simultaneously confront Victor’s duplicity, including Kyle’s seeming betrayal, and Cole’s mortality, projects to great soap.

Please let Cole go. Write him out. In writing Cole out let him take Claire with him.

Please don’t kill Cole off. I love he and Victoria together. So if you could give him a decent story that doesn’t involve Victor and keep him that would be great. Now if you could send Claire off to somewhere far far away, for a very verylong time, that would be great too.
