Teddi Mellencamp Ponders Changing Her Daughter’s Name?
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum, Teddi Mellencamp, is contemplating changing her daughter’s name. Read on to find out if Bravo fans think that’s a good idea or not.
A Change Of Name?
Edwin Arroyave has a child from a previous relationship, named Isabella. Meanwhile, he and Teddi have three kids: Slate, 12, Cruz, 10, and Dove, 5. This week, the mom of three, who currently fights for life with metastatic cancer in her lungs and brain, shared a touching photo of herself with her youngest child.

In her caption, it became clear that while she considers changing Dove’s name, she’s not really serious about it. She calls her daughter Baby Dove. So, as she’s five, should she change her child’s name?
In the Instagram caption, the Reality TV star wrote: “Now that Dove is 5, is it time to stop calling her baby Dove?” However, she then answered her own question, saying, “Nah, I didn’t think so.”
Fans React To The Question
Fans of the celebrity equestrian wholeheartedly agree that it’s perfectly fine to keep on calling Dove “Baby Dove.” One of them wrote, “She will always be Your Baby – Sweet Baby Dovey.” Agreeing, another Bravo fan said, “Nope, Baby Dove forever.”
Many people who follow Teddi Mellencamp use the word “Baby” in front of their children’s names. Here are a few more responses:
- I still call my almost 24 year-old my baby. Your youngest is always your baby ❤️
- We even still call our middle “baby Adeline” When it fits, it fits.
- My 27 year-old, 6’5” boy is my Baby Steven. Hell, I’m 51 and my dad’s side of the family still call me Baby Katie. I love it!
- Always will be your baby❤️❤️❤️❤️praying for you full recovery.
Dove Had A Traumatic Start In Life
In 2020, not long after her birth, Dove underwent surgery because she was born with lambdoid craniosynostosis. What is that? According to People, the surgery was successful.
Citing Teddi’s husband, Edwin, they wrote, “[the condition] is a very rare type of non-syndromic craniosynostosis and occurs when one of the lambdoid sutures at the back of the head fuses before birth.”
Plenty of potential health problems lay in the future for Teddi Mellencamp’s baby without the surgery. They included cognitive delays, a possible misshapen head, and vision problems.
Probably, the time spent in the NICU and the hospital strengthened her bond with her youngest child even more. No wonder she probably won’t ever change her daughter’s name to just Dove. So you agree that Baby Dove seems very sweet?
