As usual, with appeals for help, you must check out the trustworthiness of those calling for donations.
The Families Lost So Much
There is a rising death toll after the tornadoes swept through the Midwest and other states on Friday. Most of the deaths happened in Kentucky, per Wlky.com. Apart from losing loved ones, many families lost everything. Over the weekend, Laurel County officials were still searching for missing people.

The children could use a helping hand after the weather event, so there are calls for help going out. Naturally, people who can afford to donate would like to help. In particular, the kids need help during this terrifying and tragic time. Read on to find out who you can trust with your donations.
Save The Children
The nonprofit has a long history working with kids in Kentucky, and on their website, they said they are getting help to “kids and families…in Laurel and Pulaski Counties.” The organisation works with “state and local partners,” and they will make sure that “essential, child-focused supplies get into the hands of children and families who need them most.”
You can visit the website to find out more about how you can help after the Kentucky tornadoes. Greta Wetzel, Save the Children’s Senior Psychosocial Support Advisor for U.S. emergencies, highlighted the needs. She said:
Many children have been ripped from the lives they once knew, unsure of what the future may hold. It’s critical we get them essential supplies and support to be safe and healthy – and back to their everyday, comforting routines.

There are other people out there helping the people impacted in the area. Easy to Google, they include:
- Kentucky Governor’s Team Western Kentucky Tornado Relief Fund,
- United Way of Kentucky,
- Convoy of Hope,
- Samaritan’s Purse, and,
- Global Giving.
Celebrities Who Helped In The Past
In the aftermath of various disasters, including the recent Los Angeles wildfires, many celebrities helped out. Some of them performed in concerts, and others went shopping and helped distribute to the needy. Well, you might not see many of them rushing to Kentucky, but keep an eye out for charity and benefit concerts in your area.

Dolly Parton and Kenny Chesney previously did that. And, in 2021, Rapper Jack Harlow, born in the state, donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to victims. At the moment, the Kentucky-based rock music band, The Seas is in the area physically helping with the clean-up operations.
