The Young And The Restless Spoilers: Claire Forced To Leave Chancellor – Kyle’s Pressure Increases
The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Claire Newman (Hayley Erin) loves Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor). That reality is naturally impacting her life and potentially one powerful family connection.
Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) is adamantly opposed to his rediscovered granddaughter being romantically involved with Jack Abbott’s (Peter Bergman) son. Of course, Kyle is also the two-time ex-husband of Victor’s other granddaughter, Summer Newman (Allison Lanier).
Claire is shocked that Victor planted at least one known mole inside Jabot. But that response underscores her lack of experience as a Newman family member.
Jack Abbott Supports GC’s Newest Couple
Jack knows all about being a member of the Abbott family, which Victor has long loathed. While he claims respect for departed patriarch, John Abbott (Jerry Douglas), devoted fans recall that Victor temporarily stole Jabot from him years ago.
So, Jack’s full-throated encouragement of Kyle’s burgeoning relationship with Claire is a partial proxy. Yes, Bergman’s character does support his son and approves of Claire. However, he defaults on the relationship in part because Victor opposes it.
Having the backing of his family helps Kyle maintain composure. Victor has been treating him as badly as he did during the brief period when he was using Kyle as a tool while having him co-head Glissade.
Claire Doesn’t Know The Worst Of It
Hopefully, Kyle catches on to Audra Charles’ (Zuleyka Silver) devious ploy. She’s agreed to carry out Victor’s order and convince Kyle to betray his commitment to Claire.
Victor verbally claimed that he didn’t want Audra actually to engage in a tryst with Kyle. Instead, he wants her to put him in a compromising spot and have Claire learn about it.
That plan has various holes. It could work or blow up in Audra’s face. However, Victor believes he’s immune to damage, which isn’t an accurate assessment.
Victor Newman’s Diabolical Methods Revealed
Claire isn’t experienced in romance, which she’s open about. However, years of tormented tutelage under her great aunt, Jordan Howard (Colleen Zenk), created good people-reading instincts.
Audra will likely do whatever is necessary to create the outcome Victor wants. She’s motivated because he claims he’ll fund her startup business if she succeeds.
However, viewers must believe that Kyle and Claire will immediately or eventually determine what Audra is up to and then put the pieces together. Audra could also expose Victor if he reneges on the end of their deal.
Assuming that happens, Claire will be outraged and feel compelled to choose between remaining tied to her grandfather through Newman Enterprises or potentially going to work with Kyle at Jabot.
Braeden’s character will never earn legitimate Grandfather of the Year nominee status. However, as an aside, Braeden is one of daytime’s indelible actors, and this author believes he hasn’t received his due with enough statues. The actor has many nominations but only one Daytime Emmy Award, having won in 1998.
