General Hospital spoilers and rumors tease Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson) had to have had parents somewhere…all she’s mentioned is a sick grandma who died.
But is it possible that she, like Cody Bell (Josh Kelly) is connected to someone in GH’s past-there is a resemblance to Celia Quartermaine (Sherlyn Wolter).
General Hospital Spoilers: It Would Be Easy To See How Sasha Gilmore Wasn’t Raised By Her Mother
It would be easy to see how Sasha wasn’t raised by her mother and father, and raised by a grandmother who died. Celia was a distantly related Quartermaine, something like a third cousin to Edward Quartermaine (John Ingle) and at one time involved with Jimmy Lee Holt (Steve Bond).
Quentin Quartermaine (Allan Clark) was her birth father with an unknown woman, her stepmother Betsy Quartermaine (Peggy Walton-Walker) and Celia had three unknown adoptive siblings-they would have been Betsy’s children.
As for her father, Grant Putnam (Brian Patrick Clarke) who Celia loved, was unknowingly replaced by a spy, Andre Chernin (Brian Patrick Clarke).
He called himself Grant Andrews but Celia was involved with both-Putnam later being placed in a mental health institution and Celia getting divorced and disappearing.
GH Spoilers: Sasha Gilmore Strongly Resembles Celia Quartermaine
Sasha bears a strong resemblance to Celia at her age-but if Grant Andrews was her father, it’s understandable if she was given up at birth. Most likely her grandmother would have been Celia’s step grandmother, Betsy’s mother-and Betsy died in prison.
The name “Sasha” is of Russian origin which makes sense if she’s Grant Andrews’ aka Andre Chernin’s daughter, and Betsy’s mother’s last name may have been Gilmore.
All that would fit with Sasha being from northern New York, with Celia leaving town to go home to New York City, which is at least north of Port Charles.
Sasha’s story was that her parents were dead and she was raised by her grandmother, who was dying when Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) hired her.
General Hospital Spoilers: The Timeframe Falls Right
Sasha’s exact birth year isn’t really known although it at one time was assumed to be 1993 so she’d be the same age as Nina Reeves’ (Cynthia Watros) daughter.
Valentin hired her to play Nina’s long-lost daughter a few years before the truth was revealed she had twins, Nelle Benson (Chloe Lanier) and Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen).
If she’s Celia’s, with one of the Grants, either Andrews or Putnam, it would be in the mid-eighties making her closer to Cody’s age.
The truth may never be known unless Sasha decides to trace her DNA, but right now, she’s more interested in trying to convince Cody to tell the truth about his paternity. Still, it would give her and Cody even more in common, both being children of GH characters from the eighties!
