But first let’s talk about a monumental shift going forward for the ABC daytime drama. Last week it was announced that head writers Chris
Van Etten and Dan O’Connor are no longer with the show and have been replaced by current GH script editor Elizabeth Korte and veteran soaper Patrick Mulcahey (GH, Santa Barbara, Guiding Light).
There will be some changes on the horizon no doubt and it will be interesting to see how the show evolves under the new writing regime.

TVLine reports that the last airdate for Nicholas Alexander Chavez as Spencer Cassadine is January 31. Chavez is taking a hiatus to star in Season 2 of Ryan Murphy’s Netflix anthology Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menéndez Story in which he’ll play one of the infamous Menéndez Brothers who butchered their parents.
Chavez began shooting Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menéndez Story last month and he will be gone from the screen for several months according to reports. We don’t know how the show will explain the absence of the Daytime Emmy winner.
What we do know is that Sprina fans will have to wait a while before seeing their fave couple in action. Last week he and Trina (Tabyana Ali) arrived in Paris where she will study at the Sorbonne.
