This scheme feels a bit far-fetched, but the audience has not seen the final act yet. So, Victor’s plan to gaslight his children can be written toward a believable outcome.
However, Nick is demanding to know why Victor felt compelled to create such an elaborate ruse. He is head of the Newman family, which only carries so much leeway with his offspring.
But when it comes to Newman Enterprises, Victor is the Founder, self-restored Chief Executive Officer, and top power broker. That means no one, including his children can override his decisions. Yet, he did not put his foot down and force Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) out or expose his perceived duplicity.

Victor is in his early eighties. He has enjoyed a tremendous run at the helm. So, why does he need to play business games that are personal at this late date?
The short answer centers on Victor’s insatiable desire to manipulate. He made his fortune by being a connective and has routinely imposed that approach within his family.
His battles with Nikki are legendary. The lengths he is willing to go to as a means of controlling his children’s lives are indefinite.
So, rather than allowing Victoria and Adam to be who they are, Victor feels the need to teach his firstborn a lesson and allow his problem child to trap himself.
Young And The Restless Spoilers – Nick Newman On Board With Blocking Adam Newman
Nick tried his best in recent years to be a good brother to Adam. There were moments of clarity when Grossman’s character valued Nick’s efforts and appeared to embrace a brotherly bond.
But Adam is too much like Victor, but he lacks the authority or self-awareness to anticipate errors. Adam also plays the perpetual victim and uses his outsider status as a weapon of revenge.
Victor is attempting to end the destructive pattern of chaos Adam causes the Newman family. Whether Nikki and Nick have jeopardized Victor’s plan will soon be seen on Y&R.
