Jack, his new bride, Diane, and Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland), the heart of the Abbott family, arrived just as Ashley was about to march to the makeshift altar.
Devoted viewers noted that the shots of Ashley, Tucker, and the preacher appeared not to have been shot in sequence as there generally was no blank wall on that side of the Chancellor mansion.
Television tricks aside, Jack was not trying to make a statement in almost missing his older sister’s nuptials. He disagrees with her choice of spouse but wants to keep her as close as possible.
Jack’s seeming peace offering, giving her a legal paper that releases Ashley’s corporate assets, including her patents to her, was intriguing. Ashley did not know how to take it.
The Young And The Restless Updates – Ashley Abbott McCall Does Not Trust Her Older Brother
Ashley intends to use Simply Ashley and Billy’s help to take control of Jabot. She has to assume that Jack would fight that move in court.
Along with the above, Ashley would likely need to remove Jack from any role at Jabot because she promised Billy the Chief Executive Officer’s slot with no co-CEO.
Davidson’s character and Tucker want Diane out. But Jack’s emotional tie to his wife will preclude him from allowing that to happen without a major family fight.
Billy Abbott Wants What Is Best For Jabot
Billy is keeping Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) abreast of his predicament. He does not like being in the middle of his siblings.
Chelsea and Billy became involved through their cascading connection that involved him helping her to overcome a mental health issue. That is resolved and so her support of his situation is valued.
While Egan’s character is teased to be off for a period, due to the actor and her husband having another baby, creative writing and advanced scenes can allow Chelsea to not be gone for too long.
When she does, Billy will likely have made his decision to stick with Jack, switch to backing Ashley, or go a third way on Y&R.
