According to the Y&R spoilers, Summer Newman (Allison Lanier) is taking full control of her mom Phyllis Summers’ (Michelle Stafford) situation. Fans have a feeling that she’s calling the shots. One fan took to the Soap Central forums to speculate what could happen moving forward.
On Monday’s episode of The Young and the Restless, Summer bought her mom groceries. She brought them up to Phyllis’ hotel room. Her mom asked her if anyone saw her. Summer had to be careful and make sure that no one saw her.
One fan on Soap Central suggested that Summer is now calling the shots. She’s trying to “protect her mother,” especially when it comes to her crimes. However, Phyllis is the one who has to deal with the aftermath of faking her death. It’s up to her to fess up to the crime and inform everyone that she’s alive.
“She seems to also think that Phyllis should have absolutely NO punishment of any sort. While I do agree that killing Stark was self-defense, the rest of it Phyllis was involved in up to her neck, no matter what Summer thinks.”
Summer is acting like her mom didn’t do anything wrong. She’s even making excuses for Phyllis. This won’t go over well with both sides of the family. They’re already shocked to learn that Phyllis faked her own death.

The Young and the Restless spoilers indicate whether Summer Newman is taking control or losing control of the situation. Some fans believe this could lead her to have a mental breakdown. She could go down a dark path where she becomes a younger version of her mother.
