The Young And The Restless (Y&R) Spoilers: Lots Of People Know Phyllis Is Alive…Now What?

The Young And The Restless: Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford)

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal Daniel spilling his mother’s secret, resulting in a whole lot of male hand-wringing.

Hen Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) revealed herself to Summer Newman Abbott (Alison Lanier), she didn’t expect Summer to cave and tell Daniel about her alive status right away, but that is exactly what Summer did. And Summer didn’t expect Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei) to run to others and give away at least part of the game. She also still doesn’t know.

When Daniel tells Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman), Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor), and Michael Baldwin (Christian J. Le Blanc) that he knows his mother is alive, he leaves out the part about her purposely faking her own death and the part about Summer being the first to know the truth. No point in causing problems for Summer and Kyle, right? Well, it might cause problems anyway because Kyle wants to tell Summer.

Since there is no hard proof that Phyllis survived that fiery ambulance crash, Michael wants to tread carefully and not tell anyone what they know, but Kyle is not so sure.

“Kyle disagrees and goes, ‘Look, there have been enough secrets. There’s been enough pain and enough tears. We need to heal from this so that we can intelligently move forward,'” Michael Mealor said in the May 22, 2023, issue of Soap Opera Digest. “He believes Daniel’s claim is all the evidence they need.”

Daniel then feels guilt when Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) enters the room and gives his condolences on the death of his mother. He could alleviate her problems quickly but doesn’t. After both Daniel and Diane are gone, Kyle is furious that this all remains a secret and it’s all eating away at him.

“Without a doubt, this is a moral dilemma that could cause Kyle to go rogue and do what he thinks is best,” Mealor said.

Perhaps Phyllis should have just stayed hidden — or perhaps she never should have initiated her little plan at all. She really has nobody to blame but her own self for this entire mess. Stay tuned to The Young and the Restless weekdays to see how this story plays out.
