The Young and the Restless (Y&R) alum Victoria Rowell (ex-Drucilla Winters) sat down with Soap Opera Digest to discuss her new Christmas movies and how much she misses her soap family.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Alum Talks Holiday Films

Rowell has two movies coming out. Catfish Christmas and Blackjack Christmas will be available to stream in the next few days. In Blackjack Christmas, Rowel explained that the film has a heavy subject matter with a life lesson. The main character has a gambling addiction. Even so, she wanted to spend Christmas with her family, but her addiction made it difficult for her.

In addition to those two movies, Rowell just wrapped up filming Forgetting Christmas, which will air on BET. It’s about a father who sold his family home and suffering from dementia. He struggles with the idea that Christmas will be much different for him in a new house and losing his memories.

The Young And The Restless Updates – Talks About Kristoff St. John (Neil Winters)

When Kristoff St. John passed away in 2019, the Y&R viewers were so happy that the soap opera included her in the tribute to the beloved actor. Many assumed her personal issues with the management would prevent her from being a part of the show. But the writers/producers looked past her outspoken comments about the diversity on the show to welcome her and her importance to Neil Winters’s legacy on Y&R.

Kristoff St. John

“I will simply say because it is now something has come and gone that Kristoff is fondly remembered, beloved by his fans, and will always be a part of the success and legacy of The Young and the Restless. I was blessed to have the opportunity to work with such an amazing human being and fabulous actor,” Victoria Rowell shared.

While talking about Y&R, Rowell explained that she fought hard for Devon Hamilton’s (Bryton James) foster storyline. She wanted to show what foster children go through, even when they find they’re forever home. It’s a battle, and they risk giving their birth parents many chances, often disappointed that their parents cannot be the people they need them to be.
