The Young And The Restless (Y&R) Spoilers: Tough Love For Nick, Nikki Tells Him Forget Sally?

The Young And The Restless: Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow)

The Young and The Restless (Y&R) spoilers and updates tease that Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) will be getting some very tough love from his mother, Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott). Nick is reeling from having to tell Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) that she and Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) are being fired from Newman Media, and his mother tells him to forget Sally.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Totally Unfair

Things like this are why Nick avoided working for his father’s company for so many years to begin with, because he hates cutthroat business. Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) has demanded he fire both Sally and Chloe from Newman Media so she could hire longtime family friend and former personal physician Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic). Nick feels this is totally unfair because both Sally and Chloe did an excellent job, but Nikki feels he’s blinded by his attraction to Sally.

Nikki tells Nick that Sally is beneath him and he should simply cast her off and forget her, and Chloe’s position being cut is just good business. Apparently, Victoria wants to pay Nate the salary equivalent of both Sally and Chloe in spite of his lack of business acumen.

The Young And The Restless Updates – They Don’t Like Or Approve Of Either Woman

Nikki and Victoria don’t like or approve of either woman, and Nick doesn’t like the way they are operating; personal likes, dislikes or opinions shouldn’t define their work. Yet it seems office politics are much more important than people or their lives and their ability to survive; some people aren’t born rich and need a paycheck. They may be Nick’s family but clearly, they aren’t being fair to Sally or Chloe, either of them; where are they going to go to look for work? Chancellor Winters, perhaps, shall they vie for Nate’s old job now that he’s forced to fire them?

All Fair In Love And Business Wars

Nikki reminds Nick that all is fair in love and business wars and personal relationships shouldn’t come over the business, because it clouds one’s business judgment. Nick feels that employees need to be valued as human beings, not just dollar signs, besides, isn’t the family’s years-long relationship with Nate the reason Victoria’s hiring him? Nate doesn’t have business experience whatsoever except the company that just fired him, and Victoria and he came awfully close to insider trading charges.

Victoria and Nikki both think Nick is championing Sally because of personal feelings, and mentioning Chloe to hide them. Nikki reiterates Nick needs to shed Sally both professionally and personally because she has no place in Newman.
