The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers, news, and updates tease that Daniel Goddard shared the reason why he decided to return to Australia. The actor, who played the role of Cane Ashby, revealed that his decision was driven by personal and emotional reasons.

It’s been 2 years since Goddard was last seen on the soap. But fans still consider him as one of their fan favorites. The Australian native recently revealed that one of his loved ones had an emergency medical crisis.
The actor shared an emotional clip on his social media account. In an Instagram post, Goddard shared that he returned to his childhood home in Australia. He added that it was his first time seeing his father in four years. He flew back to Australia because his mother had suffered a stroke.
During this tough time, the actor felt “kinda sentimental” and started to mull over his outlook on life.
“Life has this way of dealing with us surprises but it’s how you deal with these surprises and what you learn from them that matters the most, isn’t it?” he said.
“I’ve kind of learned to appreciate the good when the good is good, because when it gets bad, you know, it gets bad,” he added.
His fellow Y&R castmates, Tracey Bregman, Darius McCrary, and Tamara Clatterbuck, took to the comment section to offer Goddard the support he needed.
