General Hospital (GH) Spoilers: Why Wasn’t The Hook For Ava Poisoned? Hook #2 — A Copycat?
General Hospital spoilers and updates tease that when The Hook went after Ava Jerome Cassadine (Maura West), the attack nearly took Ava’s life. Fortunately, she survived, but the next victim wouldn’t be so lucky. Brando Corbin (Johnny Wactor) died, and it wasn’t the injury caused by the hook that did him in. It was a toxin. The same toxin would be laced on the hook when Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy) was attacked. Why was Ava the only person who was exempt from being poisoned?
General Hospital Spoilers — The Poison From Around the World
What is this poison anyway? Lab results after Brando’s death revealed the presence of venom in his body. Dr. Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) went to work immediately trying to develop an anti-venom, which he did just in time for the third victim to roll through the hospital doors. Administering the anti-venom to Diane spared her life. What is most interesting about the venom the doctors at GH have found in these two victims is that it brought Finn back to his time overseas when working for Doctors Without Borders with his late wife, Reiko Finn (Mele Ihara). Will the toxin end up tying in with Elizabeth’s memories of Reiko somehow?
General Hospital Updates — The Next Victim May Not Be Poisoned
Although the last two victims were poisoned, the PCPD and doctors at GH cannot just assume the next victim will be, too, given that Ava wasn’t. But with so little evidence pointing to who the real target is or what The Hook’s motivations are, it’s nearly impossible to gauge what will happen next and why. Still, it begs the question: why wasn’t the hook for Ava poisoned?
There May Be More Than One Hook
There are a couple of reasons the hook may not have been poisoned for Ava. The most likely reason is that The Hook assumed the physical attack would have been enough to kill Ava, and that was their intent. When Ava didn’t die, they may have decided to step up their game to make sure they got the job done the next time — and they did.
However, now that Finn has figured out how to treat the venom poisoning, The Hook may start to change up their game to make sure their targets don’t live to give testimony as Diane has. The Hook may decide to switch up the poison, but Finn has proven he is skilled enough to outsmart this killer. Instead, The Hook is likely to start maiming victims who won’t be discovered in time to be saved because they will have bled out.
There is another option though. There were other circumstances around the first attack that was different. It was completely out of the blue and in a location that seemed to make the whole attack look like a passionate, last-minute event. Someone grabbed a hook from the Quartermaine boat house and took their anger out on Ava. Is it possible that the first attack was committed by one person, and the following two were carried out by a copycat? Let us know what you think, and stay tuned for more GH news and spoilers coming soon.
