The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers and updates tease that Victoria Newman Locke (Amelia Heinle) decided she could trust Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson). After lowering her defenses in the recent past, she again reinforced that Billy, not her blood-relative family members or Ashland Locke (Robert Newman), knows her better than anyone.

Billy implored Victoria to tell him that she had not forgiven Ashland or was giving him the benefit of the doubt. Heinle’s character offered an honest response, telling Billy that her plan would result in Ashland not having access to Johnny Abbott (Holden and Ryan Hare) or Katie Abbott (Sienna Mercuri). That meant she plans to eventually cut the Lockeness Monster completely out of her life.

But if she conclusively proves that Ashland was never diagnosed with cancer, then any attempt by him to assert that his love for her is a separate issue will fail. Maintaining the appearance of trust will be highly stressful, considering the intimate nature of her relationship with Ashland.

As for business, Victoria led the effort to merge the companies. Potentially proving he lied about cancer does not mean a legal case can be made about the merger agreement being fraudulent.

Billy’s instinct leads him to believe that Ashland’s eventual reveal will generate a violent reaction. Hardcore fans recall that J.T. Hellstrom (Thad Luckinbill) suffered from a head injury that impacted his ability to handle reality.

It could be that Billy is linking the mental and physical abuse Victoria endured during the above storyline to now. But Ashland’s backstory is so bizarre that Billy is also impacted by those admittedly horrible tales.

Tara Locke (Elizabeth Leiner) was cut out of Ashland’s life after he confirmed she had betrayed him. She is in jail because of a business scheme, with Ashland offering no preventative legal assistance. He also assumed responsibility for Harrison Locke (Kellen Enriquez), who proved not to be his biological son.

If Newman’s character ever concludes that Victoria is following in Tara’s footsteps, in not being loyal to him, then Heinle’s character will need to watch her back. Billy’s fears could prove true, as Ashland could flail in any direction and at anyone, including his wife.
