The Young And The Restless (Y&R) Spoilers: Billy In His Own Head – Lily Serves As Psychiatrist

The Young and The Restless: Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson)

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers and updates tease that Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) appeared to be past his mental health challenges. A scary episode in his life, that occurred in the recent past, seemed to have passed. But maybe Billy’s ego is breaking again?

Devoted viewers recall that Billy had a major collapse. He revisited guilt about Delia Abbott (Sophie Pollono) and harbored grudges about his nemesis, Adam Newman (Mark Grossman).

Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle), her name at the time, was his nursemaid then. Today, Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) is his replacement love interest and psychiatrist.

Young And The Restless Spoilers – Jill Abbott Atkinson Replaced

It would be great for Billy and fans of this show if Jill Abbott Atkinson (Jess Walton) were a regular character. But she is not.

Thankfully, Jill does pop into Genoa City, Wisconsin, from time to time. She persuaded Lily to return to GC and serve as Billy’s watch guard at Chance Com. That decision proved wise and also, somewhat unexpectedly, led to this one-time youthful pairing getting back together.

Billy seems forever in need of maternal protection. He veers off-course. Lily is tasked with taking care of him.

Young And The Restless Updates – Enough Of Adam Newman Already

It appears as though TPTB has decided or is allowing Adam to remain the fall guy for Delia’s accidental death. There was another car on the road that night. That leaves a wide-open gap, with even Adam believing he hit Delia.

The above is why Billy loathed Adam for so many years. Revisiting the circumstances of that fated night, and changing common knowledge, could clear Adam of this charge.

The Young And The Restless: Lily Winters (Christel Khalil)

Billy would still feel guilty for leaving Delia in the car to get ice cream for her post-play party, but he would have to forgive his invented rival. Billy’s mind would certainly shift as a result.

Lily Winters Must Focus On Chancellor Industries

Taking on Billy was one thing. But Jill elevating Lilly to the head of Chancellor Industries is quite another.

Offering Billy the Chief Executive Officer spot was questionable, as he is a handful. While his loyalty is unquestioned, he does not have the type of business background that lends itself to measured advice or decisions.

Hopefully, Billy’s mental malaise dissipates, and his insomnia is nothing more than stress-related. But that feels unlikely based on his backstory and the need for drama on Y&R.
