Mallorca, Spain: Five AMAZING Things To Do On A Family Vacation
Mallorca is one of the lovely Balearic Islands of Spain and is a truly gorgeous place with lovely beaches, clear waters, and fun attractions for families.
Summer in Mallorca is a great time for everyone, but the island is also ideal for families looking for a fun vacation. Nestled in the Mediterranean Sea off the mainland of Spain, the island offers a choice of lovely beaches, clean, turquoise waters, fascinating towns, and cities. However, the island also has a lot of fun options and activities to suit the whole family.
1. Water Parks
Water parks are a great way to cool off in the summer months, but they also offer a lot of fun for the whole family. Mallorca has a choice of three different water parks, namely Hidropark in Alcúdia, Aqualand in El Arenal, and Western Water Park in Magaluf.
Each park has a great selection of pools, water slides, wave pools, and kiddies’ attractions to suit everyone in the family. Refreshments and snacks are also available at each.
2. Palma Aquarium
Palma Aquarium is open every day of the year and is located in the island’s capital, Palma de Mallorca. Here around 8,000 marine creatures can be seen of some 700 species, living in 5 million liters of saltwater.
Visitors can explore the marine life of the Indian, Atlantic, Pacific, and Mediterranean oceans in separate sections of the aquarium and visit The Big Blue, the deepest shark tank in all of Europe.
3. Go-Karting For The Whole Family
Family fun can be had at Karting Magaluf which has something for all age groups. Children from three years of age can enjoy the mini karts, while teenagers drive the junior carts and parents have their own special race class. Karting Magaluf has three courses to choose from for those who want to race.
Older children and parents will appreciate Xtremkart, an indoor track in Mallorca Fashion Outlets. This track offers high-performance karts for an exciting race and while this option isn’t exactly cheap, it certainly is fun!
4. Caves To Explore
Get out of the hot summer sun, while exploring fascinating and beautiful caves all over the island. All the cave systems offer a temperature of 18 degrees C all year round. Choose the Coves d’Arta, with its “Queen of the Pillars,” a 22-meter tall stalagmite. Visitors can also experience a light and sound show while gazing at the stalagmites and stalactites in the caves.
Another choice is the Caves of the Dragon, where visitors can relax while musicians on boats play classical music on the largest underground lake in Europe, Lake Martel. It’s magical!
5. Picnic On The Island Of Cabrera
For a quieter day out with the family, catch a boat from Colonia St. Jordi out to Cabrera Island. Spend the day in unspoiled nature, watching the rare bird species of the island’s national park. Relax on the beach with a picnic, or grab your snorkeling gear and explore the underwater world of the island, with colorful tropical fish swimming around you.
Enjoy a great family vacation in Mallorca, Spain, visiting all the attractions, exploring the island, and dining in some of the great restaurants. You will definitely be back!
